- My phone lit up beside me on the bed, vibrating for the hundredth time. The room was dark, save for the brief, light that flashed each time a new notification came in, or the phone rang.
- I was curled up in a ball, hugging the pillow. Every muscle in my body ached, reminding me of last night. I wanted to forget. To pretend it didn't happen, but his touch lingered. My lips throbbed from his kiss, bruised and swollen. I had scrubbed myself in the shower, trying to wash it away, to erase his touch. But the water did nothing to quench the fire he had ignited within me. A fire that had been extinguished for so long I had forgotten it even existed.
