• I lowered Caroline carefully to the ground, whispering a quick, “Stay here,” before I spun around and charged toward Damien. He body was bent over Aurora, looming, his face twisted with an anger that only fueled mine. With a roar, I kicked him off of her, sending him sprawling backward before throwing myself onto him, fists already swinging.
