Chapter 3

  • "You!"
  • I looked up briefly, which one should never do in fencing as my brother stormed into the room. The opponents sabre touched my right shoulder, the legal area to score and 'defeat' your opponent. I flicked his hand away taking off my helmet.
  • Asshole, I was just about to win too.
  • "Yes me," I said chucking the helmet and my sabre to one of the workers.
  • "Why aren't you ready?"
  • I was surprised, and here I thought I was getting told of for the stunt I pulled on Catherina before. It was a good stunt if you asked me.
  • "I'm always ready!" I said looking down, well maybe not seeing as this body protection astronaut look alike suit did not bring my nose out, I mean please one's nose must stand out.
  • "Isandra," groaned Alex pinching the bridge of his nose, bet he was probably wishing he let me go to the university now eh?
  • "Go get ready, the limousine is leaving in ten minutes and you stink," he snapped. I wrinkled my nose sniffing the air, "No that would definitely be you,"
  • He closed his eyes and I took this as my cue to run away before he started to get real angry. I would take this hideous uniform off but I don't think Alex would give me the time. It was all good, until the asshole of an opponent had to yell, and mind you this was a step away from the entrance,
  • "I beat you!"
  • I placed my left hand on my hip and turned the upper half of my body around so I saw his eyes and frowned,
  • "Bitch please, I let you win,"
  • I saw Alex open his mouth and I turned and ran down the corridor. Stupid royal family, how many dinners did they need to go to, or in this case an opening of a museum. Seriously? Give me the damn scissors and I'll cut the damn ribbon, I was special too!
  • The stupid maids and fashionistas or whatever they're called laid out a dress in my room along with make up and other accessories. I nearly scoffed when I saw the range of lipsticks they put out, please, I was a natural, as in no not make up natural style, as in not even cream and moisturiser was going on this face thank you.
  • The most I did was my nails, that I took pride in, as a kid I used to spend my free time learning nail art, and I looked down at my black nails with my ring finger done a metallic pink colour, the same colour was a small flower on the thumb, a contract against the black.
  • Simple, but effective.
  • I stripped down running to the shower and rinsing myself quickly, please the limousine was going to be here in ten? I was going to be ready in five. Drying down quickly I grabbed the stupid azure blue dress that had short sleeves, with a decent square neckline that fit perfectly across my chest making sure not to flash anyone and came up to my knees.
  • Taking my holster I placed it up my thigh slipping my small pistol into it and making sure it didn't show in the mirror.
  • I put half my hair up, the front sides and let the rest hang down behind. The only necklace I wore was one my brother got me. It was on a black chain, I didn't like the chain but it was something he got me which I treasured. It was a heart shaped locket that had a native Malaysian flower in it that had been shrunk into it, and the cool part, it had small fleck of white in the pollen, which glow in the dark.
  • Horrible for night missions, but it was so soft and small you could barely notice it, but just think of the scare your enemies get when they see ghosts flying towards them.
  • Slipping into the silver heels I threw my hair over my left shoulder and ran down the stairs, yes, I ran in heels.
  • The maid who was walking up the stairs gave a small shriek as I ran past her and down the stairs towards the entrance. The butler opened the door and I smiled waving my hand as I stepped out.
  • "In his face, I got here in time," I said as I went down the stairs and waited at the front. I could see some of the guards from the gate give me weird looks, what have they never seen a victory dance before?
  • The door opened and there was the sounds of some commander, I turned around to see the guy from the kitchen my jaw slowly dropping as he stood in full uniform and wait, was that my jacket?
  • He was holding my jacket as he came down, followed my an escort of guards and of course her royal cake face, or too be soon who came with the prince.
  • "Shouldn't you be in the kitchen?" I asked crossing my arms as he walked towards me. He gave a small chuckle. The uniform fit him perfectly, that was't fair, how come mine was baggy? The gold sash made the specks of gold in his blue eyes sparkle and he handed me my jacket.
  • "You left this," he said. I grabbed it and saw Alex coming down and chucked it at him. His face was priceless as he grabbed it as it smacked him in the face. So much for a guard if he wasn't even vigilant.
  • "I bet you," I snapped moving around chef or guard whatever he was and walked up to him as he walked behind the future royal couple.
  • "Beat,"
  • "What?"
  • "It's I beat you,"
  • "Oh shut up grammar man, no one likes Nazi's I muttered as he stood by the door as the couple got in.
  • "You too,"
  • "What, why, Can't I come with you?" I asked. I'd rather get on the bike than the car with the love couple. How could love even happen at first sight, they barely knew each other!
  • "In a dress, no, in, now!"
  • "God grumpy pants fine," I snapped scooting in probably ruffling the back of my dress into a million wrinkles but right now I didn't care. I glared as he slammed the door shut, and I looked up to see Catherina and whatever his royal name was staring at me.
  • I raised my eyebrow at them and they both looked away and I rolled my eyes. Whatever if I was being disrespectful, sue me. Okay well don't behead me, this head has one brain people would fight for.
  • But I really should suck it up and take my job seriously, but why be so Sirius?
  • I cracked up on my own joke and started laughing.
  • "Are you okay?" asked Catherina acting like she was concerned. I stopped laughing and sat up straight staring into her eyes, "No, did you know I was actually in a mental asylum for a year?" I asked her. Her eyes widened probably believing it.
  • Don't laugh and ruin it Isandra, I told myself as I looked out the window. I felt the prince's gaze on me. The idiot probably believed it to. Suckers.
  • I looked at him crossing my eyes so I looked cross eyes and I heard Catherina scream and broke into hysterics.
  • The limousine came to a stop and the door opened, well wasn't that a quick ride.
  • I stepped out first as the guard as well to make sure all was clear but instead was greeted with a million flashing lights.
  • Whoa, who let the stars out?
  • I felt an arm pull me to the side, hey it was chef, what was he doing here?
  • "You okay there?" he asked as he stood beside me as the prince stepped out and then Catherina with her head held high, if only her heel got caught and the cake was returned to the ground would I be happy.
  • "Too many lights," I said suddenly feeling like I should have smoothed out my dress before I sat down, my but probably had a million wrinkles on it.
  • "You'll get used to it," he said smiling down at me, "Let's get to business," he said grabbing a pair of sunglasses and putting them on. Dayum did they do him justice as he started walking.
  • I quickly ran my hands down my but to smooth it down, probably a horrible attempt and quickly caught up as the lights flashed. Damn it I should have brought a pair, they probably hid half of the flashes.
  • But then again Alex would have a heart attack if he saw me with them.
  • Just as I was about to enter I heard one of the paparazzi yell, "Nice ass,"
  • I saw Alex stop at the door, probably to stop me from killing the guy but one thing I learnt was that, if you let them know they affected you, it would make it worse.
  • Instead I looked over my shoulder and blew the camera guy a kiss, "Take a picture, it lasts longer," I yelled just before I saw Alex bang his head against the wall and then the black doors shut.
  • I turned around stopping as I saw the massive amount of people, maybe I should have sat properly in the limo.
