• Mey wanted to go swimming, it was already cold outside, and had just rained this morning. She was stubborn, I worried for her. She’d get a cold if she kept this on. I managed to sneak in some paperwork while Mey chatted up our private chef, teaching some of her mother’s special recipes. I’d barely finished filling up my paperwork when my phone buzzed in my pocket. The tone was sharp, urgent. I didn’t recognize the number but still, I answered.
