- The gravel kicked up under the tires as Ellis took the final curve of the forest road, one hand steady on the wheel, the other bracing against her thigh. Pine trees blurred past the windshield, the cabin finally coming into view just beyond a ridge of fog.
- Asher whistled low from the passenger seat. “Remind me never to doubt your AirBnb sleuthing skills.”
- Ellis smirked. “Told you it’d be perfect.”
