Chapter 72 Alone At Last

  • I held Andrew’s hand as I guided him to the stairwell. Using the master keycard, I opened the door and took him up to the top floor where Lisa’s wedding would be held. I hoped that walking there instead of taking the elevator would give me the time to settle the butterflies in my stomach.
  • Instead, the butterflies were fluttering even more erratically by the time we traversed the final flight of stairs. I used the master keycard and, in a grand gesture, flung open the door to reveal the top floor’s Victorian façade. Andrew let out a small gasp of wonder.
  • “Those photos in your binder don’t do this place justice,” he said as he stepped through door.
