Chapter 13 MILLIONAIRE

• I brought out the ring and then gave it to him. He looked stunned for a second and then hit it again. He took out a light and held the diamond over it. He then faced me and said, "I'll have to run some tests on this diamond but ma'am how did you get this". I already had a lie prepared. Of course no one would believe that I was given a diamond by a vampire princess who was my mate. They would think I was crazy and call the cops. I looked at him squarely and said "I was given this ring by my mother before she passed away, she told me that a long time ago, she happened to date this very rich man and he gave her this ring. But when things got sour, she left him and took only this ring with her. He didn't try retrieving but instead made it hers legally. On her death bed, she gave it to me and made me swear that I'll never sell it till I was at my last resort. I promised her and ever since she died, things fell apart. I've been on the streets for three years until I finally made up my mind to see what this ring was. If it was a fake I know I'll get thrown in jail and honestly I won't mind. Life has never been fair to me". He looked at me sadly. Believing every word I said.
• Hmm I don't think many people came here to have their rings tested cause the police threat often scared them away. So I must either be crazy or super bold either way I had no other choice.
• He then put the ring in a machine and told me "I'm so sorry for your loss ma'am. I'll test it right away it might take an hour but from the texture and my own personal analysis of the ring, I'm very sure it must be a very expensive diamond". I didn't say but just nodded. I didn't want to get my hopes too high so I was just cool about it. In a while, I'll know.
