• Two weeks. It had been exactly two weeks since Xavier disappeared from my life without a word. No calls, no texts, no responses. His phone was probably still active, ringing silently in some dark corner, but he had made it clear he didn't want to be reached. I couldn't blame him, really. I had felt the same way after discovering the truth - like I was drowning in a sea of lies and deceit.
