• After four rounds of blackjack, I was certain Grace and I had scraped the rumor mill about Justin’s habits, tastes, problems, and latest triumphs. As far as I was concerned, it was about time to find Renda and get out of here.
• I hadn’t seen her since she’d left the man standing at the craps table and headed towards the bathroom. The man had continued to mill about playing a few rounds at random tables here and there, but Renda never returned to him.
