Chapter 7 Is She My Sister
- “Is there another question you're struggling with?” Darcy asked, finding his shocked expression quite amusing.
- In this family, it seemed that only her younger brother was to her liking.
- It took a while for Tyler to recover from his shock. Eventually, he asked somewhat sensibly, “Y-You actually know how to solve it, so why did you score so poorly?”
- “I just didn't feel like lifting a finger.” Darcy casually made an excuse.
- “So, how long are you planning on lazing around? Are you going to be too lazy even to lift a finger when it's time for the pack joint exams?”
- “Of course not.” She thought of her journey as Bloodshade, laden with countless honors. She had fought her way up from being a mere Rogue to a bloodthirsty warrior even the Alpha feared. She had never experienced such a low point, subjected to such disdainful and contemptuous stares.
- Regardless of their status, whether they were Alphas or Omegas, everyone else could only look up to her in submission.
- She could only stand at the pinnacle, looking down upon them.
- The fact that his sister, whom he had known for over a decade as a simpleton, had deliberately concealed her potential to become a Beta caught Tyler off guard. Yet, an unexplainable trust emerged within him, leading him to anticipate her accomplishments when she wasn't being lazy.
- “What are you thinking about?”
- Tyler shook his head, offering her a piece of candy. “You didn't eat much for dinner. I'm sure you'll be starving later. Here, take this.”
- Bloodshade was accustomed to her solitary lifestyle. As she stared at the piece of candy resting in his palm, she found herself momentarily motionless.
- After a pause of two seconds, she took it.
- “You should consider losing some weight. You have no idea how harshly people are talking about you. Doesn't it upset you when you hear it?”
- Darcy looked at the candy in her hand, inevitably developing a fondness for this unexpected younger brother she stumbled upon.
- “Before, I couldn't be bothered to deal with them, but since they've become increasingly audacious, I see no reason to hold back. I'll settle scores with those who've wronged me,” Darcy stated in a calm voice.
- Tyler assumed she was talking nonsense because she had hit her head.
- “I'm heading back to my room,” Darcy announced. Before she left, her gaze lingered on Tyler's limping left leg.
- She was capable of healing Tyler's leg.
- Lying on the bed while savoring the candy, she frowned at the sight of the spider webs that blanketed the ceiling beams. The air was filled with countless invisible microbes.
- Aside from a few challenging missions, Bloodshade had never experienced such dreadful conditions. Despite her warrior background, she had always led a life of luxury. Her spending habits were even more extravagant than many Alphas from smaller packs.
- The mention of money by Loraine, which she consistently brought up, echoed in her mind.
- Bloodshade became a bloodthirsty warrior from a young age, possessing wealth, power, and influence. She could easily devastate a small pack with the financial resources she had amassed from her various identities in this world.
- It was a pity that she was now trapped in this body, unable to utilize any of her previous identities, wealth, or power. She couldn't even access her money.
- However, she wasn't bothered by it. After all, she could easily obtain these things if she wished.
- Darcy quickly adapted to her new surroundings and identity. After spending two days at home recuperating, she was ready to go to school.
- As dawn was just beginning to break, Darcy stepped out for her morning run.
- She could endure all the new trials and tribulations that came her way, but the one thing she couldn't accept was the excess weight she had gained.
- Putting aside the inconvenience of her movements, she was hard-pressed to handle even the slightest danger. She had to regain her original physical condition as soon as possible.
- After breaking out in a full-body sweat, Darcy returned, utterly exhausted.
- She quickly took a shower, changed into her school uniform, and left the house.
- As soon as she stepped out the front door, she saw Tyler waiting at the entrance, a backpack slung over his shoulder.
- In the original host's memory, this was the first time Tyler had waited for her to go to school.
- Feeling somewhat embarrassed about this being their first time too, Tyler hesitated before saying, “Let's go.” Then, he walked ahead on his own.
- During the couple of days Darcy was resting, Tyler frequently visited her room with math problems. After witnessing Darcy's extraordinary problem-solving abilities time and again, Tyler was finally convinced of what she had said. She was just lazy.
- For Darcy, such a problem was really a piece of cake.
- She didn't even need to lift a finger. A simple glance was all it took for her to know the answer. Just as she said, “Sitting in the exam hall was merely a courtesy to them. These kinds of questions are nothing more than a complete waste of time and ink.”
- On several occasions, Tyler found himself questioning whether this person was truly his sister.
- Has there ever been a case in history where someone became a genius after a fall?
