Chapter 4

  • Diya PoV:
  • I understood it's Home Minister Ranveer, who is the reason behind my accident. I called Ranveer.
  • "Hello," a female voice answered the call.
  • "Can I speak to Home Minister Ranveer? I am Diya, a journalist."
  • "Stay in line, I will call him," she said.
  • "May I know who are you?"
  • "I am Ala," she said.
  • "Ala? Are you his wife?" I asked her wantedly.
  • I know that Ala is not his wife. Everyone says they have an affair, and Ranveer forced her to stay with him.
  • "I am his devotee," her answer shocked me.
  • "Ranveer is not a god and atleast doesn't deserve to be called as a human," I replied seriously.
  • I don't understand people of this type. Ranveer trapped and forced Ala. Even then, Ala is saying that she is Ranveer's devotee.
  • "Ala, who is that?" I heard Ranveer asking Ala.
  • "Hello, who is this?" Ranveer took the phone.
  • "Diya," I said.
  • "Oh, Mrs. Shourya, Congrats on your marriage. Why did you call me, baby?" Ranveer asked in a husky tone.
  • His words were always cheap.
  • "Look, Mr. Ranveer, don't lose your manners by talking like this to a girl," I said.
  • "Why did you call me? Are you bored with your husband Shourya just for one night? I know I am so manly. But I never know you are fond of me. Are you that interested in me?"
  • "Shut up you bl**dy b*st*rd," I said, clenching.
  • "Control your tongue, Mrs. Shourya. You are talking to the Home Minister. I can show the consequences of your words on your husband," Ranveer said.
  • "Look Ranveer, if you are angry at me, face me. Don't try to touch Shourya. However, Shourya is a true man and perfect police officer. He is capable of handling idiots like you. Remember, unnecessarily you tried to harm me, be ready to see the next game," I said and disconnected the call.
  • I took my laptop and connected the pen drive to see the clips that have Ranveer's criminal activities. In the clip, I saw him talking to people involved in human trafficking. I want to collect the information about Ala and how she reached to Ranveer.
  • Suddenly I heard the door opening sound and kept the laptop in sleeping mode. Shourya came into the room.
  • "Did you have food, Diya?" Shourya asked me.
  • "I will have later. I am busy, Shourya," I said.
  • "Diya, the doctor told that you are weak as you lost blood in the accident. He told you should have food and tablets on time," Shourya said and went to the washroom to change his dress.
  • He came to the room and brought food for me.
  • "5 pm is not the right time for lunch, Diya. You should be careful about your health. Only then you can bring out the hidden truths behind the lives of people like Ranveer."
  • "What? Ranveer?"
  • "I know you are dealing with the case of Ranveer and Ala. I am an IPS officer. I have my sources to know any information. From tomorrow don't go anywhere without the security."
  • "I don't want any security," I said.
  • "I didn't ask your permission. No arguments," Shourya said, making me gulp.
  • Till now, he is speaking as a friend. Now he changed his tone. No one dares to say no to IPS Shourya. He gained that respect with his sincerity and boldness. I nodded as that tone makes a person to respect his words.
  • After having lunch at 5 pm, we resumed our cases. I felt drowsy and thought to wash my face to concentrate on work. But I was unable to walk. Shourya turned towards me from his chair.
  • "Is everything ok, Diya?" he asked, seeing me getting off the bed.
  • "I want to wash my face," I said, and he nodded.
  • He lifted me and dropped me near the washbasin. I washed my face, and he again brought me to the bed. I focused on my work. After some time, I had dinner forced by DCP sir, and I resumed my work.
  • Shourya PoV:
  • I am preparing a case file of an accused. I shivered with the passage of the cool breeze. I thought to close the balcony door and found Diya sleeping without closing her laptop.
  • The air passed into the room, and her sari was wavering, moving a bit away from her stomach. I gulped, seeing her like that.
  • God, what's happening to me. I saw her face. She is as cute as an angel came from heaven. My eyes went to her collar bone and then to her......... NO. A new sensation made me shiver. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
  • No, this marriage has no value. Diya is not my wife. Damn it. I must stop thinking like this. She wants the divorce and is not ready to accept this relationship.
  • I closed the balcony door. I went to Diya, closed the laptop, and covered her with a blanket making her sleep comfortably. I decided to arrange another room with a bed and ask her to shift to that room. It is better for both of us.
