I stood in front of our mansion and for the first time I didn't know what to do, I didn't know if I should knock or just walk in, I felt like a total stranger, I gathered up my last drop of confidence and walked up to the gate, the giant gate looking so big and scary for the first time ever, I had on a plain T-shirt and faded pair of jeans that I got at a cheap price at the market, it would be the cheapest thing I have ever worn, I didn't bother to do my makeup and my hair was packed up in a messy bun, I looked miserable even to my eyes, I walked close to the gate and before I could knock, the security man came out, he looked shocked to see me, but quickly got over it and ushered me in, I guess he didn't know yet that I am no longer part of the family, I didn't remember his name as I wasn't good at remembering people's names.
"Are my parents home?"
