Chapter 7

  • "Nothing has happened yet but I can't say nothing will happen so I need you to keep an eye on her." She nodded then smiled.
  • "I can't wait to try your wife's cooking." Arlene giggled.
  • "She's not yet my wife and I can't wait too cause am starving. " Layton smiled.
  • Gemini spent hours cooking and soon gave up. She was going to serve them what she tried to cook and prayed for a miracle and had set the food on the table. Layton finally made it back to his place and saw Gemini at the table, later on Strider and Arlene walked in and sat with them.
  • "I thought you said you where an amazing cook. This tastes awful!!" Layton yelled, he was not a fan of lies. Gemini fought the tears in her eyes as Strider chuckled.
  • "Layton." Arlene stared at him with a disappointed look.
  • "Gemini it's not that bad." Arlene said as she comforted Gemini.
  • "Am sorry, I don't really know how to cook."
  • "Then why lie. Am not a fan of lies you know." Layton said in an angry tone then got up and headed for the exit. Gemini felt ashamed for herself and Arlene took her to a restaurant.
  • "I didn't think he would be that mad." Gemini said as she pocked her food.
  • "He's not angry at the food but the fact that you lied to him. Gemini you must understand he has trust issues and you lying to him was disappointing for him" Arlene said.
  • Layton was stopped by Dakota on his way out.
  • "Sir, you need to see this." She said as she led him into the woods where the other guards where and just in front of the guards was a guy tied up.
  • "What is it?" Layton asked confused.
  • "Well we found him roaming around our territory." Dakota said.
  • "Which pack?" Layton asked.
  • "Not sure." She said as she pointed at the guy. Layton walked towards him.
  • "Tell me who sent you!!" Layton yelled as he punched the rival on the chest and the guy let out a painful groan.
  • "Go to hell!!" He guy yelled out and spat on Layton's shoe's.
  • "So you invade my territory without at permission and you have the guts to spit on my shoes!!" Layton yelled and sent another blow on the man's cheek.
  • "Sir, we need him." Dakota said as she placed her hand on his shoulder making the alpha relax a little.
  • "Which pack do you belong to?" Dakota asked the man.
  • "Bane." The man spoke out as he stared at Layton. Layton wondered what a Bane member was doing in their territory after all they live south from them which is pretty far.
  • "How many of you are out there?" Dakota asked again.
  • "None, I was the only one." Layton got even more confused.
  • "What I want to hear is who sent you!!" Layton yelled again.
  • "No one." He man yelled. Layton wasn't sure if this had something to do with Jones but he had to be careful. As he said he knew Jones too well and knew how he played. Jones was a guy who liked to be two steps ahead of his enemies and your not careful he would bring you down. Layton took a step back to process it all and Dakota accompanied him.
  • "What do you want me to do with him" She asked him.
  • "Get rid of him and keep an eye on things." She nodded.
  • It was nightfall and Layton had returned back to his house with questions swarming his head and he had is dinner, he just hired a chef among his pack since he's mate couldn't cook but it didn't surprise him as he's ex girlfriend couldn't too. Gemini slept in her room staring the ceiling, she failed to sleep and didn't know why and she tossed and turned but it didn't help. She thought for a while then she remembered everything the day her father died, she then remembered the little bear she loved sleeping with, the thing that made her feel safe that's why she couldn't sleep. She got up and left her room where she visited the kitchen, she took a glass of water and sat on one of the tall chairs. She thought heavily.
  • "What are you doing?" She turned and saw Layton staring back at her.
  • "I couldn't sleep so I came to get a glass of water." She said a little scared, she didn't know why she was so afraid of him.
  • "You okay?" He asked as he noticed her tear. He then walked towards her and sat close to her.
  • "It's just my father…. It happened so fast." She spilt out as she tears rolled down her cheek, she didn't mind if it was the alpha she was talking to as she just wanted someone to talk to and the alpha couldn't help but feel pity for her.
  • "What happened?" He asked as he played his hand on her lap.
  • "It was dark, my mother wasn't home that day so It was just me and my dad. I woke up in the middle of the night and herd voices down stairs….. all I remember was fire everywhere." Gemini paused as she felt a sharp headache.
  • "Look don't stress yourself out, I know how it feels to lose the only family you had but it's in our blood just have to accept reality sometimes." Layton said as he got up and Gemini knew that Layton was right, she lived through it and all that was left was for her to accept.
