• The hot spray of the shower did little to wash away the lingering exhaustion clinging to Mason. He dressed quickly, the familiar feel of his leather jacket a small comfort. Steeling himself for the day ahead, he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to Lily's forehead, then another to Rosy's still-damp hair. They stirred slightly but didn't wake, lost in the deep slumber that had finally claimed them.
