Chapter 18 The Cabin

• ‘’Zephyr!’’ I muttered his name as I shook his body to wake him up, but he didn’t respond. I wanted to scream at him for putting himself at risk yet again because of me, but he lay lifeless in my arms, blood seeping from his back, his face becoming paler with each passing second. He was slowly dying.
• ‘’What do I do now?’’ I whispered, tears flooding my eyes, but there was no time to cry. The masked men were still hot on our trail, and I could hear their footsteps echoing on the forest floor. They were nearing us, and I had to do something to escape. They could trace us by Zephyr’s blood, making it easier to catch us.
