Chapter 3
- Ariel
- " How long till she gets better?," mum asks the doctor curiously, her eyes lingering on me.
- They managed to bring me home and had our pack doctor check on me.
- "At most 24 hours, her wolf and vampire are very weak. She'll need a lot of rest," he says packing up his stuff.
- I know I look like shit because it's been three days without taking shower or food.
- "Also give her a lot of fluids, if her vampire is energised she'll recover quicker" my mother nods leading him out of my room.
- The problem is, I can't feed myself, yet. My senses are coming back but I lack the strength to do anything.
- I stare at the ceiling blankly, images of Alpha Lance recurring in my mind.
- Why did he leave? Didn't he want me? or maybe my mother scared him away, no. He's the one to scare people and not the other way round.
- What he believed Alex was my mate? Oh! no moon goddess, Alex is only after something.
- "Hey sweetheart," My breathing hitches when the devil himself chirps enters my room, and closes the door behind him.
- When I remember those smirks they gave each other, it terrifies the hell out of me. I don't want to be alone with him in the same room because I don't trust him one bit.
- I silently watch him as he lowers himself beside me on the bed.
- "You are a beautiful girl, you know that right?" he chuckles to himself, brushing his slender fingers in my long hair.
- Gross.
- "I can't wait to have you all to myself" he says smirking evilly and my stomach churns. Finally letting out his fake self.
- Oh! moon goddess.
- My eyes hold fear as I look at him sceptically," No no don't be scared sweetheart, I won't hurt you. Yet" he laughs flashing his fangs while his fingers play with the strands of my hair.
- Are all vampires insane?
- He traces his index finger on my jugular and smiles slyly.
- " I can't wait to drink from you. Boss promised I can do whatever I want with you after he gets many grandchildren from us " he laughs louder tilting his head back.
- Oh! moon goddess, he was sent by my father. I knew he was up to something. I won't let them, no.
- Why is the drug taking so damn long? I need to get out of here.
- Does mum know about this? I don't trust her either.
- "I have a lot planned out for us darling" he whispers in my ear, licking the earlobe in the process. That causes my breathing to halt and I try to move away from his disgusting self but am too weak for that.
- "What are you doing in here young man?" mum asks entering with a tray holding water and a blood bag.
- Thank you, goddess.
- Alex's facade changes immediately to the sweet boy he's pretending to be.
- "Am sorry mum, I was just worried about her?" he says with fake concern and my mum nods.
- I look at my mum trying to tell her with my eyes that he's up to no good, but she's not even looking at me.
- "Alright, feed her this please," she says handing him the blood " I was busy with something" please no, don't leave.
- She never does chores, what is she busy with?
- "I will take care of my mate , don't worry about anything," Alex says politely eyeing the bag hungrily.
- As soon as mum vacates the room, he smiles mischievously pinching the bag with his sharp fangs. He eagerly gulps the blood as I gape at him in disbelief.
- "That was sweet" he chuckles licking his lips and throws the empty bag carelessly around the room.
- I needed that, fuck you, Alex.
- One day when I get a hold of my father, he will wish he never created me. Like he proudly announced minutes ago.
- I feel my senses begin to awaken. However, my beasts might take time to regain their strength and until then, I will remain vulnerable.
- "Where were we?" he stares at the ceiling, pretending to think.
- " Oh yes! about our plans. How about we start by allowing me have a taste of your sweetness," he says lowering his face and I can feel my heart beating wildly in my chest.
- No please I whimper but no sound is heard. His fangs pierce my skin and I feel so much pain that it makes the little sense I had go numb.
- He hungrily gulps down my blood like he never had any.
- "What do you think you are doing?" Justin asks furiously when he finds him that way, he's lifted from me in seconds and I try calming my terrified self down.
- Thank goddess he came, my long-time best friend.
- Unlike alpha lance, Alex overpowers Justin. He pins him on the wall ready to snap his neck, but a loud fierce growl freezes him in his tracks and he knocks him out instead.
- My mate is here, I can feel him because my wolf is perked up at the growl.
- "Pathetic" he mutters looking at Justin's body on the floor and hurriedly walking back to me.
- His lips are red with my blood trailing on his shirt. He looks like the devil himself " Let's get you out of here, I can already smell your mate and I hate it when am interrupted"
- He carries my body and starts walking towards the window leaving Justin's unmoving body on the floor.
- Voices are clearly heard downstairs and it's Lance and my mum.
- "You are not going anywhere my daughter boy" she shouts on the top of her lungs, what's wrong with her?
- "She's in danger woman, get out of my way" Alpha Lance growls out menacingly.
- "She is with her mate in there he won't let her" Alex chuckles showing off his fangs," Boss was right, your mother is so stupid " he shakes his head amusedly putting me on the floor so he would open the window.
- Luckily for me, Lance rushes inside followed by the woman I call a mother, and goes straight for Alex.
- Alex realising he's caught , he escapes through the window before muttering' I will be coming for you'.
- "Mine" Alpha Lance growls picking me up as he nuzzles his nose in the crook of my neck, inhaling deeply.
- Now that I can smell him,I revel in the sweetness of the woodsy scent that engulfs the whole room. Completely awakening my senses. I know am safe, I feel comfortable with him.
- My mate.
- "I should have known, this is all my fault" mother cries crotching down to Justin's unconscious body, without even glancing at her own daughter.
- Lance watches her and scoffs.
- "Let's get you out of here" he announces heading to the door and I don't even think my mother heard him.
- She is busy crying for someone else son.
