Chapter 8
- Ariel.
- Fuck.
- I clutch at my stomach trying to stand up but I fail, falling back on the grass instead.
- This shit gets me so fucking weak and I hate it. I thought I had more time but the universe had another plan for me.
- It always has. Now am convinced the moon goddess hates me.
- The desire to have our mate intensifies and the longer I stay away from him the more the pain becomes severe.
- 'We need to get out of here, more wolves are coming' my vampire whispers and I grit my teeth lifting my clothes from the floor.
- I breathe heavily as I put them on not minding if am doing it the right way or not.
- A big midnight black wolf with glowing yellow eyes halts in front of me and my wolf starts nudging me to come out.
- His scent is everything I missed in my whole life and it's calling out to me.
- My beasts are on the verge of breaking and with Just one slip, they will pin lance down and we both know he won't resist. I can never let that happen.
- I can never let him touch me.
- More wolves follow him and they surround me sniffing the air. Their tongues are out dripping with saliva and I can only imagine what they'll do if they have me in their grasp.
- Lance's wolf stands protectively in front of me but I know if I don't get out of there things will get messy.
- I don't have the strength to fight and my mate won't be able to take them down on his own.
- My wolf is not even helping and all she thinks about is being laid. That's why I love the vampire side of me, she's not easily swayed even with the mate bond.
- Being this close to our mate lessens the pain but I will never let him think am depending on him for anything.
- I bring my vampire out and using her speed, she jumps on a tree. It's so high and wolfs won't climb up unless they shift back to humans.
- I groan when I start heating up again. I find a comfortable branch and sit on it though it does nothing to offer comfort.
- The wolves are now below the tree still growling with their heads tilted towards me. Why won't these horny fuckers control their animal instincts?
- Lance with another two wolves are fighting to keep them away but they keep coming.
- Why does he act protective when he wants nothing to do with me? Maybe it's his wolf's instinct.
- Sweat trickles down my forehead as I struggle to breathe. My abdomen hurts, my whole body feels like it's burning in and out and I can't do anything to stop that.
- I have to make sure the next heat doesn't find me here.
- 'Do something lucile' I beg my vampire though I know only one person's touch will take the pain away. Only the alpha's touch.
- 'I can't, am sorry' she whispers tiredly. The pain is draining them off and I pray I don't fall unconscious on a fucking tree.
- I grip the branch harder cutting through it with my claws when I feel my backbone twisting. It's like shifting for the first time all over again.
- I let out a throaty cry when the pain moves and settle into my lower stomach.
- Damn.
- Next time an fucking someone, just anyone.
- I don't care if I was waiting for my mate to take me for the first time, right now I need a male's touch. Anyone, as long as he makes it stop.
- 'No' my wolf objects weakly.
- Fuck you.
- She doesn't want anyone but her mate and that makes me sick. He gives no shit about us, get over him.
- "Make it stop please" I cry to no one in particular and Lance releases a loud growl. I catch his wolf's looking right at me.
- If I didn't know better, I would think he feels my pain. But this is the sadist alpha, he has no feelings whatsoever.
- The pain becomes unbearable, and with my beasts being weak I don't know for how much longer my human body can take it.
- Everything about hybrids is intense, not only the positive essences but also when it comes to pain and emotions. We get everything in double the normal wolf or a vampire gets.
- I feel myself slipping away, I tiredly lean on the branch and the last thing I see is the glowing yellow eyes staring at me. Sadly.
- ***********************************************************
- I wake up to the sunrise peering through the window and I quickly sit up. Did I pass out for that long?
- Damn ariel.
- Am glad my energy is back and my body is no longer in pain.
- Am back in the pack house and in the same room I was brought in the first day I got here. I hate this room.
- My clothes from yesterday are changed and I scowl at the big shirt that smells like Lance, did he have to wear his shirt on me? I toss the blanket away and rush to the bathroom.
- I need to set my plans in motion.
- Eden had promised to help me out of the pack borders, so the only thing I need to do is contact Justin to bring me money and my car.
- I also need a new phone, the last one I had dropped when that man kidnapped me and he had no decency to pick it up for me. At least like every father would have done.
- I take the shirt off in front of my mirror to find myself bare beneath. He fucking saw me naked. Good thing no one touched me in any way.
- I stare at my flawless pale skin. The moon goddess blessed me with good looks and I never had doubts about myself, until my mate rejected me.
- My hair is long and curly brown My eyes are very green with full pink lips, and I have no spots on my skin or even birthmarks. Am slightly curvy and 5*7 tall.
- Maybe am just not his type. I won't beat myself for that even though it hurts.
- Every girl fantasises about their mates, we used to picture how we imagine them in our heads and marvel at the imaginary love of our lives.
- When I saw him in that lab for the first time, I was like wow! the moon goddess outdid my imaginary mate.
- I was so happy, the male is like a fucking god and he was supposed to be only mine.
- But what did I get? a fat rejection in my face. Am not even sure if he knows my name. I wish Justin was my mate instead.
- I disregard my self-pity thoughts and stroll to the shower cubicle. I take a quick shower before changing into white spandex shorts and a big black hoodie.
- I put my hair in a messy bun and wear white sneakers. I won't take anything with me for a clean get-out.
- Anyone will easily be suspicious if I walked out with a backpack, I just can't lose this chance.
- When I get back to the room, Agatha is already there making my bed.
- "Good morning" I mumble to her heading to the window.
- "Good morning to you luna," she says lowering her head in submission and I roll my eyes. She'll never stop with the submission shit, I don't even want to be luna.
- The window is big and though it's high, I can easily jump as twice higher and not get hurt. It's facing the back of the packhouse and I grin at that.
- Perfect.
- Even the gods are with me on this.
- "Alpha requested you to join him at the breakfast table 30 minutes from now" she moves closer to me to pass the message.
- Of course, Lance will never request, she just doesn't want to be rude.
- Am sure his statement was like, ' tell that woman upstairs she needs to be at the breakfast table exactly 30 minutes from now' and a threat probably followed.
- "I don't normally take breakfast Agatha, am sorry," I lie but deep down am very hungry. Food is the only thing that used to run through my mind before the vampires took me.
- It was my only worry, it gave me sleepless nights and made my heartbeat skip.
- Food and I are in a tight relationship and it hurt me I have been missing it a lot lately.
- But the hate I feel towards Alpha lance exceeds my love for food.
- Who will sit at the same table with a man who'll probably insult the way I chew, or feel disgusted with how I swallow?
- No thank you
- "Is Eden around?" I ask looking out of the window.
- "Yes, he's downstairs" she answers politely, I wish my mother was like this woman.
- "Can you have him come see me please" I look at her and she quickly nods.
- "Right away luna," she says leaving the room and I sigh looking out of the window again.
- Right down my window is a man staring intently at me. I haven't seen him before and he doesn't look away when I catch him staring.
- So daring I must say.
- It's safe to say he's creeping me the hell out when he doesn't move.
- His hair is brown and unlike lance, he has soft features.
- He's in track suits probably coming from training or something. He has baby blue eyes which are appealing to the eye.
- The stranger smirks at me and finally walks away.
- Who is that?
