Chapter 6 Human Mate

  • He looked somewhere my age yet he was rugged, which made him a bit more mature.
  • “Good evening. Is Kira Itzayana Fernandez here?” the man asked. “The Al-I mean master is already waiting for you.”
  • As he said that, I felt like he was familiar.
  • I looked back one last time at the people who I call family.
  • To my father who was avoiding eye contact, to my stepmother who was wiping her fake tear, and to my stepbrother, who was the only one decent enough to feel sorrow as he grabbed my arm, not wanting to let go of me.
  • “No. This is not true. You’re not going.” He said firmly, almost begging.
  • I looked at him in the eye, making sure he would see how dead I am, and removed his hands from me.
  • I turned back to the man in front of me. Sucking in a deep breath, I bit my lip and feigned courage to even walk to him.
  • I have to accept this. I have to.
  • He then nodded at me and directed me to the black car waiting outside.
  • “You won’t bring anything with you?” He asked curiously.
  • I shook my head, “I won’t.”
  • My decision is final. Since I’ll be leaving them, why would I bring with me the baggage?
  • I’ll be off to somewhere only the heavens know where, so might as well come in empty-handed.
  • “Let’s go,” I said firmly, not even turning back to bid my goodbyes to them.
  • The man looked at me in wonder, probably guessing and questioning why did I not bother saying my goodbyes to my family before he opened the car for me and I hopped in.
  • He went to the driver’s seat and started the engine.
  • I let myself wallow into nothingness, staring at the window as it started raining.
  • I smiled bitterly, appreciating how the dark sky seemed to sense my feelings as it poured down loudly.
  • “You must have forgotten about me, but I know you.” The man started to speak up against the silence.
  • I turned to him, “You do?”
  • He nodded, “Yes. I spoke to you. At school, remember?”
  • My eyebrows creased, looking at him closely then gasped, now sensing that he’s really familiar.
  • “Yes I think I met you before but I forgot your name..” I admitted and he chuckled.
  • “Mark. The transferee.” He said, “We met at the detention room…”
  • I nodded, now remembering that incident.
  • “Just call me Mark alright? We will happen to see each other many times starting now.”
  • I nodded, “Why? Am I going to be forced to work? Or be a sex slave? Why did your master buy me?”
  • I mean let's face it, I have nothing special going on. In fact, my life is boringly dramatic. Unless it's a scam or a trick in the market..
  • He shook his head, “This will be hard for me to say so let’s wait until we arrive at our destination. Alpha will explain.”
  • I could already sense the upcoming danger I was put in but instead of running away in fear, I find myself wanting to just go with him.
  • “I can see that you had a bad relationship with your family. Don’t worry, with us, no one will dare to harm you.” He said, trying to comfort me.
  • I appreciate the gesture, but instead, I just felt more sadness that’s starting to creep in again.
  • “Why? And Who? So you really bought me?” I asked, scoffing at the word bought. I've only seen this from the movies. And it’s not even possible.
  • “It’s not me who bought you. It’s the alpha.” He said. “And I know that you perfectly know him.”
  • I gulped. So I am now really out here.
  • He drove me to the deep end of the forest and I started to worry for myself, afraid of the possibility that this man is a serial killer but then again, why do I have to live?
  • If ever, I do not want to live anymore so if ever I get murdered here, then I’ll just let things be.
  • Mark opened an umbrella before walking to my door and opening it up for me. The rain had started getting bigger now so he quickly made crossed the path until we arrived at a big wooden house.
  • It looked like a treehouse but when we entered, the elegant furnishings and modern furniture made me gawk at the sight.
  • Mark then guided me inside the house and deeper where a room was closed. He knocked for a minute before saying, “Alpha, she’s here.”
  • The door opened and it led me to an office-looking room. There was an oak table in the middle along with a metal chair and sitting behind was a man who looked at the glass, watching the scenery.
  • “You may now go, Mark.” The man ordered in a familiar deep voice.
  • Mark behind me nodded and I looked at him, wanting him to stay since he’s a bit familiar but he softly smiled, “You can do it.”
  • He then locked the door and I was left alone with the man in front of me who turned around and I gasped.
  • I could remember him.
  • He’s my physics teacher. Mr. Jones. His sharp features and dark grey eyes and hair are styled neatly. He was wearing a black shirt that hugged his biceps.
  • “Good evening, Ms. Kira Itzayana Fernandez.”
  • I blinked. Wait for what?
  • I instantly walked away from him, far enough from him. “My father sold me to you? Mr. Jones, physics teacher?”
  • He stood up defensively, “Just let me explain everything, I knew that you just lost your aunt and you are in a crisis now.” He explained, “But I assure you I bring no harm to you.”
  • I grabbed the pens from beside me and threw them at him. “I won’t hear it. You’re a pedophile! Goodness, I’m just a high school student-“
  • “Pedo- what? Ms. Kira, listen to me first. I did what’s best for you because it’s not safe anymore. I want to tell you about your aunt first.”
  • I paused, wait, why is he telling me about my aunt? “Wait, you know her?”
  • He sighed, “I want you to sit down first. Let’s calm down.”
  • Heaving a deep breath, I took a seat in front of him and he nodded, “Thank you. Now you watch fantasy movies?”
  • I blinked, “Uhm..what?” Is this man, joking with me?
  • He saw the disbelief on my face and he explained again, “I am serious, Ms. Kira. I am asking because what I’m about to tell you is going to shock you.”
  • “What is it?” Like just tell me what you want.
  • “I am a werewolf, and right now, you are my mate.”
  • What he said made me pause a bit and gasped in shock, “What?”
  • He nodded, “Yes.”
  • I scoffed at him, “You know I’m not here to play around.”
  • He clenched his jaw as if triggered at my words, “Neither am I. You think I like having a human as my mate?”
