Chapter 30

• Riek's POV
• Even at this it's still dark with the light from on top, the one emanating from the giant letters of the hotel's name being the major source of illumination, singling itself out from the others. I stand for a while intending to rest and breathe in the night's air when all of a sudden giant men from nowhere come rushing towards me, they must have emerged from the corners and the flowers. I wanted to shout but before I could, one of them placed a heavy hand over my mouth, and they Zeep me off their feet. I want to mind link with Rudina who is a few meters away to come save me but the unsteady state of my mind right now can't enable the mindlink. They carry me to the waiting Bentley packed by the side of the hotel, I look at them and they are all armed with guns. One of them brings out a very sharp knife glimmering under the moonlight, I fear he would just slash my throat.
• "Get the fucking ass right inside the car." He growled as the ones carrying me threw me inside. I fall on the back seat like a heap of load, they open the doors of the car from both cars. Before a word could be said, they zoom off. One of them keeps covering my mouth, so heavily. I can't breathe. Tears of regrets stream down my face, I know I'm dealing with a mafia now. I'd been hearing of Conri dealing with others, I didn't know that today I'll suffer his fate. I feel my end draw near as these men drive out of the hotel vicinity, Conri 's claim of killing anyone that stands in his way, which he told me re-echoes in my mind. Am I gonna suffer this fate? I'm pretty sure that he does not know who he's dealing with.
