• “Mom?” I trailed off as I saw Mother rush through the door, she was saying something but trailed off as soon as she set her eyes on me, her eyes got teary and I knew she was about to cry.
• “Lucian!” She yelled as she ran towards me and engulfed me in a tight hug, I stood there, stupefied, not hugging her back, but I felt her grip me tighter and I knew this was real, this was no dream, I was awake, mother was here and somehow, I’d found a mate too. Slowly, I brought my hands to hug Mother back, she started sobbing hard and we stood there in one another’s embrace for what felt like a whole lot of minutes. Then slowly, we stopped and detangled ourselves but Mother still held me in her arms, looking directly into my eyes as though this was some dream she felt she’d wake up from any moment from now.
