Chapter 43

• Zach stepped into his room, grudgingly hitting the light switch before he slammed his bag into the couch with more force than was necessary. He was furious and he wasn't even sure why.
• Sybil getting back together with Dian shouldn't have made him feel as if someone was twisting a knife in his guts but it did and the feeling was disconcerting. It made him want to punch a wall, throw things around and scream at the top of his lungs, but that would be crazy and what explanation would he have to give for his crazy behavior? I am mad because my best friend got back with her ex. It was ludicrous.
• But it hurt. It hurt that he hadn't been able to get her to smile so brightly and yet after spending just one night with Dian the sparkle was back in Sybil's eyes, and she'd beamed as if she was the happiest person alive. It wasn't fair, not after everything Dian did to her, it wasn't entirely his fault because Sybil's parents had a hand in the whole bullshit, but still, he didn't like Dian.
