- I had no idea how long my ears had been ringing after the explosion, but I just remained on the ground for a moment until I felt Axel’s hand on my shoulder. I turned to face him and looked straight at his chest. “You’re all healed,” I exclaimed.
- Axel nodded in response and stood up from the ground. He gently placed his hand around my neck and helped me up. He then pointed forward, and I saw Emma and Gaion lying on the ground a few steps from us. I had thought they had disappeared, but I was wrong. They lay side by side, and I couldn’t tell if they were dead or alive because I couldn’t hear their heartbeats.
