Chapter 6 Visiting Father-in-Law
- Paige frowned and shook her head, clearly displeased, but she reluctantly agreed.
- "Grandpa Raven, I understood," she conceded.
- "Mm, that's my good girl, Paige," Arlo responded warmly.
- ...
- Meanwhile, inside the Traditional Medicine Department's Director's office.
- Gianna had just finished an acupuncture session with a female patient and was preparing to call the next one after the patient had dressed.
- But just then, the door burst open.
- "Second Mistress, you lied to me! My fiancée wasn't in this department!"
- "Ah!
- "You pervert!"
- The female patient covered herself, letting out a piercing scream.
- "Oh my goodness, my eyes! I've seen something unclean. I'm going blind!" Gale covered his eyes in fear, afraid that one more glance would render him completely blind.
- The female patient was taken aback.
- Why is he reacting more dramatically than I am?
- Something unclean?
- Do I really look that bad?
- "Second Mistress, why didn't you lock the door when treating patients? I had to witness such a terrifying scene!"
- "What did you say?" the female patient retorted.
- Gale continued to look aggrieved.
- Gianna chuckled incredulously.
- To appease the female patient's emotions, Gianna waived the medical and registration fees, successfully ushering her out of the office.
- With a gentle tap on Gale's shoulder, she remarked, "Alright, stop pretending now!
- "Taking advantage and still acting innocent, you are asking for a beating!"
- Gale dropped his hands and rolled his eyes.
- "Isn't it just a chest? Mine is bigger than hers anyway. What's there to see?" Gale retorted.
- "Ouch!
- "Second Mistress, please stop! I can't take it anymore!"
- Gale's chest was pinched by Gianna's fingers, making his heart skip a beat. Whenever Gianna pinched him like this, it always left him feeling both pained and oddly delighted.
- He wished he could retaliate in the same manner, to let her experience what it felt like.
- But that was just wishful thinking.
- He never dared to do it!
- "You little troublemaker! Your antics just cost me a day's wages. Our plans for tonight at the Celestial Hotel are ruined!"
- "Second Mistress, please don't! I'll cover the room expenses!" Gale pleaded.
- "Do you have that kind of money? It's over 1,500 a night at Celestial Hotel!" Gianna countered.
- "I can use my face! If I'm short, I can just owe them. It's not like I can't pay it back."
- Gale boasted, not only mastering medical skills but also learning his master's every trick, even the shameless ones.
- Did he think using his face was an honour for the hotel?
- And most places didn't even qualify for that?
- Gianna unclipped a pen from her chest and wrote down an address.
- "But you're busy tonight. Take your father-in-law's address and go visit. They called and invited you for dinner."
- "I'm not going!" Gale huffed.
- Gianna's eyes shimmered with mischief.
- "Your fiancée has a big chest, and her buttocks are so round and plump. I touched them when I treated her last time, and they felt quite nice."
- "I'm going! I'm going right now! See you later!"
- Gale exclaimed, grabbing the address and darting off like a streak of smoke.
- Meanwhile, in the Arcanum District.
- Outside a luxurious mansion, Gale ran as if his life depended on it.
- It was a full 80 kilometres from the hospital to here.
- He had to cross a sea bridge after leaving the district!
- "D*mn it! Why is it so far!"
- "Stop! What are you doing?"
- Three burly security guards stood at the gate, blocking his way.
- "Sir, my father-in-law invited me for dinner. Could you help me open the gate? I'm here to break off the engagement," Gale remarked with a smile.
- "Your father-in-law?
- "Inside?"
- The guards looked at him in disbelief, then glanced at the grand mansion inside the manor.
- "Yeah! Is there any problem?" Gale asked, puzzled.
- "Hahaha, you're cracking me up!"
- "A loser like you dares to associate with the Wheeler family, who are worth billions? And you want to break off the engagement?"
- "Just you? Are you even worthy?"
- The guards disdainfully scrutinised him.
- Dressed in cheap street stall clothes!
- Not even a decent outfit!
- Where did this guy get the courage from anyway?
- "Sir, I'm just here for dinner. There's no need to insult me."
- Gale sighed in exasperation.
- Are these three idi*ts for real?
- With this kind of attitude, how long before they get fired from guarding wealthy people?
- "Yes, we're insulting you!"
- "If you don't scram right now, we'll beat you!"
- The three men brandished their fists, threatening fiercely.
- Gale rubbed his forehead helplessly.
- I'm genuinely worried about these idi*ts losing their jobs.
- "Guys, couldn't you just make a phone call to the mansion to verify if I've been invited?" Gale suggested calmly.
- "What the hell! This guy's really pushing it!"
- "Let's beat this lunatic!"
- "Make a call? Today, I'll make sure you're covered in blood!"
- The three security guards immediately surrounded Gale.
- They were clearly trained in combat, with well-defined muscles that made taking on two or three ordinary people no trouble at all.
- One of the guards threw a punch at Gale, who managed to dodge a few times.
- "Hey! That's enough already!" Gale shouted.
- "If you keep this up, I'll have to fight back!"
- The security guards were getting frustrated.
- How could this guy move so fast, like an eel?
- "If you're so capable, stop dodging!"
- "I'll knock you out!"
- Bam!
- "Ouch!"
