Chapter 103

• The seatbelt sign blinked to life overhead.
• “Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve begun our descent into Las Vegas. Please return to your seats and fasten your seatbelts,” the pilot’s voice tuned over the intercom.
• Kelvin blinked out of his thoughts and looked out the window. The desert stretched below them, vast, dry, endless, and then, like a mirage, the Vegas skyline came into their view. It was bright, happy and shimmering as he left it.
