Chapter 12
- TIA POV
- I was totally lost and shocked from where to start. I didn't expect to see her here and
- "What are you doing here darling?" She asked again, holding my hands softly as we both were seated close to each other on a sofa.
- "I'm actually here for the interview."
- "To be frank with you, I actually wanted to discuss this matter with you today and I'm so glad you're finally here."
- "How?" I asked, looking lost.
- "It's alright darling. I will explain everything to you. What would you like to have?"
- "A glass of water will be fine."
- "Okay. Let me make the call to get it for you." She said and walked over to the desk to make a call through the intercom.
- "Frank, please come over to the study and inform one of the maids to bring a glass of water." She said over the intercom and gave me a warm smile before walking over to join me on the sofa.
- "Just feel relaxed darling, it's more like your home." She urged me, caressing my face before a knock came over the door.
- "Come in Frank." She permitted the person as the tall handsome man from earlier walked in with a maid holding the glass of water on a tray.
- "Here is the glass cup of water, ma'am." The maid said politely as ma'am Sarah took it from her and asked her to leave.
- "Here you go, darling." She added the cup of water to me which I took from her and gulped a little from it and dropped it on the table close to me.
- “Frank, I already found the perfect woman for Andrew. How does she look?” She revealed holding on to my hands.
- The man I will be tying the knot with is Andrew who I don’t know what or how he looks like. But I'm pretty sure he took his mom's good looks or maybe that of his father who I don't know as well.
- “She's indeed a beauty, Mrs Walton. I’m sure Mr Andrew will be pleased with your choice.”
- “Of course he would. Anyways, you can head back to the company and don’t forget to share the good news with him."
- “I'll definitely inform him. Have a nice day Mrs Walton and you too, Miss.” He smiled and headed out of the office.
- “So, darling ever since we bumped into each other at the hospital, I've had eyes for you as a perfect wife for my son. However, I didn't have the courage to open up to you directly but today I planned to do it which turned out you're here. You really have no idea how this means so much to me."
- "I'm really short of words right now."
- "It's alright darling. You will get used to it. Anyways, tell me why you joined this interview."
- "Well, my boyfriend embezzled my dad's company money using someone to carry out his dirty little plans and flew away leaving the company at the point of bankruptcy." I explained.
- "That's so sad. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Since you're here with me, you don't have to worry about anything. I'll help you with the company and make sure it's on the peak."
- "Thank you so much ma'am Sarah. I'm so glad I came across someone like you."
- "Me too, darling. There's one thing I've been wanting from you."
- "What is it?"
- "Can you call me mother, please."
- "That's not a problem. You're also like a mother to me." I beamed.
- "Thank you so much, darling. You have no idea how happy I feel right now." She smiled, holding on to my hands passionately.
- ANDREW POV
- I was on the phone with someone when Frank walked in with a big smile on his face which was unlike him.
- “Can we discuss that at the meeting tonight? I need to take care of something urgently.” I said to the client on the phone before ending the call.
- “What’s with the face, Frank?” I inquired, curiously.
- “Mrs Walton told me to inform you that the search for a wife is a success.”
- “Is that why you are smiling?” I scoff in disbelief.
- “Not exactly sir. The lady is really a beauty to behold, I’m sure you will fall…” He was still talking when I cut him off.
- “Get the hell out of my face this minute.” I roared in rage as he rushed out of the office.
- How dare he say such words to me after telling him countless times I can’t ever have anything to do with anyone? Naomi was really a sneaky bitch who made me believe ladies out there are the same as her.
- She never considered how we turned her worthless life into something meaningful and the least she could do was stab us at the back.
- **
- Few minutes later, I heard a knock and urged the person in only to find it was Frank as the words he had said earlier rushed back to me.
- "What do you want, Frank?" I asked, coldly.
- "The meeting is about to start sir and I'm sorry for what I said earlier. I didn't mean to upset you." He apologised.
- "Don't you ever say such words to me again. I don't bloody care if the bitch is beautiful or not. I only agreed to get married so get that into your fucking brain." I roared.
- "Noted sir. Sorry once again."
- "I hope you do. Take these files and trail behind me." I instructed and got on my feet before making my way out of the office.
- I've been too soft on him which was why he had the courage to say the words to me but this time around, I won't be any soft. I will be so hard as a rock and no one can change that, not even my mom or the bitch I will be getting married to.
- TIA POV
- I was so glad ma'am Sarah loved me even when I was a total stranger and wanted me as her daughter-in-law. I haven't seen anyone as sweet as she is, who wants nothing but to see me happy and kind.
- Although, I felt bad hearing about the health condition of her husband and why she has been searching for a wife for her son. I hope her husband regains consciousness after the wedding.
- I'm just worried how my parents are going to react when I inform them of my marriage. I know a lot of questions will be thrown at me but I hope I'm able to know what to say because at this point, telling them the truth will only stop me from fixing the company.
- It's only going to keep the company fixed the way it is right now and I got to do something since it was my mistake all along. I have to bear all the burden on my head.
- "We've arrived ma'am." The cab man said, jolting me out of my thoughts.
- "Oh, thanks. Here you go." I handed the $100 to him before stepping down from the car.
- I'm so nervous to break the news to them right now but nevertheless, I have to. I know I can do it, there's nothing to be afraid of. It's just to tell them I'm getting married.
- I strolled towards the door after responding to the security guards greetings, praying silently to have the courage to tell them without showing there's something in between.
- I walked inside the living room and found the whole place empty and decided to check the dining room to see my dad having lunch alone.
- "Hey sunshine. How was the contract deal?"
- "Hi dad. It was a success and it wouldn't have happened without your blessings." I lied, feeling deeply hurt having to lie again.
- I was lucky on the first one but who knows about these? I know I'm doing the right thing which they will understand when they find out.
- "I knew you could nail it. I'm so proud of you, sunshine." He said with confidence.
- "Baby, when did you arrive?" Mom asked coming from the stairs with dad's drugs in her hand.
- "Dad, mom I have something to tell you both." I cleared my throat.
- "What is it, sunshine?" Dad asked, eagerly.
- "I am getting married." I dropped the news as they both looked at each other with shock with lots of questions written all over their faces.
