The massive iron gates opened slowly, revealing a long driveway lined with perfectly manicured hedges and stone fountains glistening under the evening lights. My heart pounded as we approached the mansion. Something about this place always left me uneasy, as though it held secrets that I wasn’t meant to uncover.
