Chapter 43 Growing Suspicions

• I woke up to the soft sunlight streaming through the curtains and the sharp sting of my alarm. The persistent notification on my phone reminded me of the dinner I had agreed to with Madam Claudia. It was supposed to be just the two of us, but even the thought of being alone with her made my stomach churn.
• Sighing, I got out of bed, ran a hand through my messy hair, and headed to Luca's study. If anyone could help me mentally prepare for this, it was him. When I reached the study, though, I froze at the sound of voices inside.
