Chapter 4 Working For Him

  • Nikolay
  • I hated treating women as bargaining chips, but I was a man of my word and would fulfill my promise. When Margaret did all the work I asked of her, and somehow, I had to earn my salary, I would set her and her brother free.
  • I knew she wouldn't get the money, and since we first met, I had been thinking about how to collect the debt her brother owed me... Although, in reality, I had been thinking about her.
  • My men had been watching her for a while, and I already knew she was beautiful, but she was even more stunning in person. Besides, I was impressed by her bravery in offering herself as a bargaining chip to free Mike and especially how she confronted me in her office.
  • Margaret was the kind of woman I liked. Her body was a temptation, slim and slender, with long wavy brown hair that smelled like strawberries and mesmerizing emerald green eyes.
  • If you stared at them, you felt like falling to the bottom of a well, lost.
  • I could have any woman; I always had them with just a snap of my fingers, and I was dying to have Margaret. Unfortunately, I had to leave her alone in my room because I had an important meeting with a partner and close friend.
  • Fernando Garza, the biggest drug lord in Latin America, whom I had been dealing with for a long time.
  • "What about the money Mike owes us?" he looked at me inquisitively.
  • "I've contacted his family. They'll pay in a couple of weeks," I explained.
  • "We can't wait that long, Nikolay."
  • "His family is doing what they can. Besides, they'll work for me as an apology," I said, intertwining my fingers with satisfaction.
  • "I don't know how you managed that."
  • "Believe me, when someone you love is in danger, you do anything," I said confidently.
  • "It's true. In that case, we must discuss drug trafficking in Italy," he said with a grimace. "We have problems."
  • The meeting dragged on for hours. When it finally ended, my head was foggy, and it took me more than a minute to gather myself.
  • I had some things to do before seeing Margaret. Oh yes! I hadn't given her time to pack her things in New York because I wanted her to dress elegantly and sensually for me. So, I went to the city's most expensive and luxurious stores to buy her some things.
  • It was dinner time when I returned home. I opened my room, eager to see that beautiful woman, and there she was, but sleeping. I didn't know if I should wake her for dinner or wait for her to wake up.
  • In the end, I left her alone again. I hadn't realized she would be tired from the journey, but I assumed that afternoon would serve her to rest.
  • After dinner, I returned to the room, but she was still asleep. I left a tray of food for her on the table and sat beside her to watch. Her lips were reddened from the kiss we had shared before that meeting.
  • Well, she didn't really reciprocate my kiss, but I figured I caught her off guard. That woman would get used to me over time; I was sure of that.
  • I got out of bed to change my clothes, although I only took off my pants and shirt, and got into bed next to her.
  • Her scent and warmth were almost like a drug, but I turned my back and prepared to sleep. I had also had a tough and tiring day...
  • ...
  • Margaret
  • The next morning, when I woke up, I tried to orient myself. I looked at the ceiling of the room and remembered that I was now in Russia.
  • The cold had taken over the room and me.
  • I turned in bed to try to warm up, but I stayed still when I saw Nikolay. He was lying next to me, wearing only boxers.
  • God, he was so handsome... and so wicked.
  • He stirred restlessly beside me and finally woke up, catching me shamelessly watching him, to which I blushed when he smiled at me.
  • "Good morning, baby. Did you sleep well?" —God, what a seductive voice.
  • "Yes... I think I fell asleep after the shower," I said somewhat embarrassed, feeling his intense gaze on my face.
  • "Don't worry, you were tired from the journey, and it's understandable," he said in a condescending tone.
  • I furrowed my brow.
  • "Why didn't you wake me up?"
  • "We can have fun when you're feeling better. But for now, you should get up and get dressed," he smiled, seeing my confusion. "There's new clothing in the wardrobe for you."
  • Nikolay got up and headed to the bathroom. I was freezing, but I decided it was time to dress, and I didn't want him to see me naked.
  • I opened the wardrobe and found branded women's clothing. I assumed he had bought it for me because I had nothing to cover my body from the cold.
  • I chose light jeans and a lavender-colored shirt matching a lavender star-patterned scarf. I searched for comfortable shoes, but most were heels, so in the end, I opted for stunning black heels.
  • Fortunately, I was already doing my hair when Nikolay came out. The man frowned at seeing me, perhaps upset for not having seen me naked.
  • I smiled knowingly, realizing that he couldn't take his eyes off me.
  • "I should have mentioned that today is your first day at work, and you haven't chosen the right clothes for it," he commented critically.
  • "Excuse me?"
  • "I need to eliminate a rival, and I need you to seduce him," he looked me up and down. "I don't think you'll conquer anyone like that."
  • I wanted to shout a thousand insults, but I chose to stay silent.
  • I took off the scarf, revealing a V-neck. Nikolay smiled a bit, but he approached me and placed his hands on my hips.
  • "Do you allow me to advise you?" he said again with that seductive air that made me shiver.
  • "I don't need anyone to tell me how to dress..." I began to grumble, but he stopped me.
  • "We made a deal. You'll work for me, and I need you to change clothes," he said more seriously this time.
  • Nikolay opened the wardrobe and pulled out a tight, low-cut red dress, definitely provocative.
  • I sighed resignedly and took the dress. I didn't know if he would leave the room or not, so I went to the bathroom to change. I was surprised that he didn't follow me or anything like that.
  • Once ready, we left the room towards my first day of work.
  • I had to admit I was nervous. I didn't even know what I would be facing, but I was sure it wouldn't be to my liking.
  • Nikolay, on the other hand, couldn't stop looking me up and down, which I didn't know if it made me feel flattered or scared.
  • In the end, I concluded it was a bit of both.
