• Without hesitation, she threw her arms around him, and he embraced her just as tightly. They both clung to each other, giving the warmth they so desperately needed, for their loneliness; she, for her sorrow and fear.
• A loud scream echoed through the house, making Katerin jump in fear. She quickly pulled away from Zac and ran toward the door.
• When she reached the living room, she found her daughter Emily standing there, frightened, looking around anxiously, while the other children huddled close to her for protection.
