Chapter 2 Mysterious Man

  • Yasmin instinctively held her handbag up, shielding her face from most of the hot coffee. Her forearms were scalded from the splash, resulting in a burning sensation on her skin.
  • The waiters and customers in the café froze in shock when they caught sight of the incident.
  • “You b*tch! You must be the shameless wh*re who stole Lionel! I can’t believe that he left me while I was pregnant with his child!” the woman continued hurling a bunch of vulgarities as she reached out to slap her, but Yasmin managed to dodge it.
  • Yasmin was stunned. What the hell? Is this “Crazy Night Out” or what?
  • “I’ll rip your face off, you b*tch! This is what you’ll get for stealing my man!” the woman shouted as she began to claw at Yasmin’s face.
  • Although Yasmin had swift reflexes, the woman was still able to get a nasty cut in with her long fingernails.
  • By then, the waiters had stepped in to restrain the woman from causing Yasmin further harm, but most of the customers there saw Yasmin as the one at fault instead.
  • “Who would have thought that a young and innocent-looking woman like her is actually a homewrecker!”
  • “Yeah! I can’t believe that this woman stole her man while she was pregnant!”
  • “I swear, women these days have no sense of shame at all! It’s like they’re willing to do anything for money!”
  • Yasmin was furious about the pain and humiliation that she had just experienced. She hated being misunderstood and accused, especially for things that she hadn’t done. Alright... You want a fight, you crazy b*tch? Well, you’ve got one!
  • With a swift motion, Yasmin grabbed the woman by her wrist and punched her hard on the clavicle, crushing her spirits instantly. She hit her so fast that it seemed like a mere pat on the shoulder to the onlookers.
  • Yasmin was not exactly a skilled fighter, but her years of martial arts training with her grandfather had allowed her to take on men who were twice her size. Had the woman not mentioned that she was pregnant, Yasmin wouldn’t have held back at all.
  • “I don’t know what you’re talking about! In fact, I don’t even know who you are, and I sure as hell don’t know this scumbag named Lionel! You’d better shut your stinking mouth up before I call the police on you for slandering me!” Yasmin shouted at her.
  • “Call the police? Do you have any idea who I am?” the woman shouted in return as she struggled to get past the waiters in front of her.
  • The crowd gathered around the two of them, and some of them even began pointing fingers at the crazy woman.
  • “Yeah! A crazy woman, that’s who!” Yasmin snapped back at her as she whipped out her phone and prepared to call the police.
  • Suddenly, a hand reached out from in front of Yasmin, covering the screen before she could hit the button. “May I have a word with you, miss?” A calm and soothing voice rang in her ears.
  • Yasmin glanced up in surprise. It was the man with the gold-rimmed glasses, and he was looking at her with a gentle smile on his face.
  • “What is it?” Yasmin frowned impatiently. The assault following the horrible blind date had her on the verge of losing her temper.
  • The man pointed at the woman before he began to draw circles with his finger beside his temple. “The woman isn’t quite right in the head, so the police wouldn’t arrest her even if you filed a report. Would you mind letting this go to spare my boss the hassle?”
  • Yasmin raised a brow at him. “And who is this boss of yours?” The light from above was reflected in his glasses as it cast a dim glow over his eyes. As though she had been charmed by a spell, Yasmin found herself unable to refuse his request.
  • “He is the man who caught you when you fell earlier!” the man explained with a chuckle.
  • Yasmin narrowed her eyes. The crazy b*tch has been awfully quiet ever since this man appeared... She turned around and saw the woman’s face twitching slightly, her hands trembling as she stared at the entrance of the café.
  • Yasmin followed her gaze toward a tall figure who was standing by the door.
  • Even at such a distance, Yasmin could feel him staring intensely at her. She then decided to put her phone away.
  • Well... He did save me from an embarrassing fall, so I guess I could take this as me repaying the favor...
  • “Thank you very much, miss!” the man said gratefully.
  • “If you’ve got some mental issues, take your pills before you leave the house next time!” Yasmin glared at the woman angrily before she winced from the pain that she felt in her hands.
  • “Are you alright, miss? Shall I take you to the hospital...” the man offered. Nevertheless, the crazy woman cut him off before he could finish, “Who are you calling crazy, you shameless wh*re?”
  • She made another attempt at attacking Yasmin, but the man grabbed her arm as he quickly hoisted her on his shoulder, saying, “Please excuse us, miss!”
  • Thereafter, he strode out of the café hurriedly while the woman continued to kick and scream madly.
  • Seeing that the show was over, the crowd dispersed while Yasmin wiped the coffee stains off of her handbag.
  • Heh, just my luck... Guess I’ll just head home for now...
  • To her surprise, a waiter stopped her when she got to the door. “I’m sorry, miss. You haven’t paid your bill.”
  • “Huh? What bill?” Yasmin asked in confusion.
  • The waiter flashed her an awkward and sympathetic look. “Well... Do you remember the man who was with you earlier? He only paid for his part...”
  • The confusion on her face was soon replaced by a wry smile when she heard the waiter’s words. Words cannot describe how unbelievably cheap that man is... Yasmin couldn’t even be bothered to get mad anymore. She simply handed the waiter the money and left the café without looking back.
  • The night was extremely cold, and the hole on her dress only made things worse as she waited for a taxi by the roadside. After about an hour of waiting, she found herself close to tears as she shivered uncontrollably from the stinging pain and the freezing cold.
  • Moments later, a car pulled up beside her. Thinking that it was her ride, she got in the car without even checking.
  • When she noticed someone else in the back of the car, she instantly realized that something was off. The interior of the car was incredibly spacious and luxurious, and there was a Bentley logo on the steering wheel.
  • Oh my god! I’ve gotten into the wrong car!
