Chapter 7
- Alessandro's POV.
- "Of course, my body had to betray me at the worst possible moment. Great timing,"I thought, sarcastically.
- "I guess you're a bit easier than you—"
- Her words snapped something in me. My cock instantly deflated, and I shoved her hand off my thigh.
- She looked stunned, fear in her widening eyes. A reaction I was all too familiar with. People around me always feared me, no one ever treated me differently.
- But I had to admit, her boldness this morning surprised me. She came off as a fiesty little vixen, but her attempts to seduce me where as weak as the others who had tried. I almost wanted to break her for it.
- "Easier, huh?" I growled, hovering swiftly over her.
- She gasped and closed her eyes, trembling.
- "Please don't hurt me," She whispered, her lips quivering.
- I gazed down at her, gritting my teeth. A part of me wanted to make her pay for her stupid remark, and misplaced confidence, but I held back.
- With a huff, I pulled away and went to the elevator, pressing the button that led to my study.
- Once inside, I approached my desk, glancing at the stack of files, but found myself feeling too exhausted to go through any of them. Ignoring the papers, I sauntered to my seat and sunk into it.
- As I closed my eyes for a while, savoring the silence, a knock disrupted my peace. My eyes snapped open, irritation flooding me.
- Not Sophia, let it not be Sophia.
- "Who is it?" I barked.
- "It's us, boss," I heard the voices of one of my men.
- "Enter."
- They walked in and approached my desk. With the grim expressions on their faces, I could tell something had gone wrong. Nothing irritated me more than things going south.
- "What the hell happened?" I questioned in an icy tone.
- They immediately lowered their heads, and dropped to their knees.
- "Boss, we were ambushed at the port. But, we took care of of them and cleared the bodies before the cops arrived," Stone reported, his voice rough as his name.
- "I don't care if you killed them. Where is my money?" I hissed, anger rippling through my veins.
- They exchanged panicked glances, visibly shaking.
- "Boss...we lost it all..."
- A fury darker than anything filled me. I'd been losing money lately, and each loss felt like a personal insult. Money drove everything in this business, every risk and every move.
- "You know I don't play with money, right?" I said. "I f*cking live and kill for this money!!! And you're telling me that you lost my millions?"
- "But...boss we defeated them—"
- "Shut the hell up!" I shouted. "You should have died for all I care. My money shouldn't have gone down the drain, you know that!"
- "We're sorry, boss," They mumbled.
- "You have 24 hours to get my money back. Every cent. Or I'll blow your brains out myself. Got it?"
- "Yes boss,"
- As silence descended, I heard the door creak slightly. It seemed like little Sophia was eavesdropping.
- She was pushing her luck.
- "I won't just blow your brains out."I muttered, rising to my feet. "I'll cut your tongues, and feed them to the guard dogs. Then I'll cut your fingers..."I headed towards the door. "After that, your d*cks will be next..."
- As I reached the door, I opened it and she stumbled inside.
- "Ouch..." Sophia yelped, landing on the floor with a thud.
- "All of you get out!" I ordered. My men scrambled out, leaving me alone with Sophia.
- I closed the door, and walked back to my seat.
- "Why were you eavesdropping?" I questioned, growling. "Looks like I have to set rules for you, Sophia."
- Sophia rose to her feet, checking her elbows and knees for bruises. "You didn't have to open the door like that!" She snapped, glaring at me.
- Those little glares of her would soon get her in trouble.
- "I do whatever I want. Now, why are you here?"
- "I want to know what exactly you do for a living. Are you a criminal?" She asked. "Wait, don't answer that. I heard enough to know that you're a criminal. But what kind?"
- Good question. What kind of criminal was I? Well, I was a mafia king with a long list of kills. I had made my success in the underworld a long time ago.
- "Do you have a death wish?"
- "No."
- "Then don't ask questions that will grant you one."
- I thought she would back down at my words, but she persisted.
- "I don't care what you say. I need to truly know who you are. I can't keep living with someone who I know nothing about. And anyways, you came injured tonight, will your dead body be next?
- "Wouldn't that be a blessing to you?" I sneered.
- "Just tell me," She insisted, avoiding my question.
- "Fine." I agreed. If she wanted to bear the burden of my identity, I owed her no favors.
- "You already know my name. I am a mafia king, and I deal with loads of drugs, money and dangerous people. I also have a long death list..." I smirked, relishing the scared expression that grazed her beautiful features.
- She was indeed beautiful. Her fair skin, dark hair, those piercing emerald eyes and full pink lips—
- "What?... You're not just a mafia guy...but a mafia king??"
- "Exactly."
- "Oh my God," She stammered, panic creeping into her voice. "Are you going to kill me now that I know? I mean I've read some mafia books and that's what they do."
- I smiled, a dark and twisted smile. "I should kill you, but I won't..."
- "You'll stay alive since you're still useful too me," I revealed, making her face pale.
- It was a bit humorous how often her face turned red.
- "Uh...okay...excuse me," She muttered, trying to escape my presence as she edged toward the door.
- "Stop there!" I commanded, and her body froze.
- "Why?" She turned to face me, her eyes wide.
- "You are sleeping in my room tonight, you still have to seduce me, remember?"
