- "Where have you been?" David asked me as I entered the house. He was sitting on the couch with school books on the table.
- "Just here and there. Wait a minute." I sat beside him. "If a girl catches you kissing another girl, then you try to explain what she saw and she says to never mind. What does that mean?"
