Chapter 9

  • JAYDEN'S POV
  • Throughout the drive to the company the words my son uttered minutes ago kept running on my head.
  • I can't believe he called his nanny, 'mommy.' It's so surprising how things are changing after hiring this nanny.
  • I still can't tell if he really meant what he said by addressing her as his mother but for some reasons, I saw the happiness in his face when she responded and with the way he's always carefree around her is something I find strange and mysterious.
  • I have a feeling I know her from somewhere but I really can't tell where and how we encounter each other. Deep down, I'm really curious to know the connection I have with her.
  • We arrived at my company, which I worked so hard to make an empire and the strongest around the world. It wouldn't have been possible without the support of my late wife, Amanda who supported me with everything she had.
  • I stepped out of the car the moment Henry opened the door for me and was welcomed with the face of the last person I ever wanted to see after the death of my beloved wife.
  • "What's with the face, Jay? Aren't you happy to see me after all these while?"
  • I headed towards him without saying a word and kept staring at his ugly set of teeth and cunning smile.
  • "It's okay, son. I know I deserve the cold treatment but I didn't expect it this way."
  • "Henry, attend to him. I've got other things to deal with at the moment." I stated, and walked inside along with two bodyguards trailing behind me.
  • I just hate the fact I had to see his ugly face this morning. I've never liked him from the beginning and never will I.
  • I don't care how old he is and who he is. But one thing is sure, he was never good towards everyone so why do I have to treat him with respect?
  • I still don't know what made him show up after all these years but one thing is for sure. He either needs something or is hiding something. I've never seen him smile that way towards me which shows something is wrong somewhere.
  • I think I'll have to keep a close eye on him this time around because I never put him in the list of the people who might be an enemy but seeing that smile on his face says something which I can feel deeply.
  • **
  • I was on a call with a new client when the last person I wanted out of my face pushed the door open standing in the door in rage.
  • "Is that the way you treat someone older than you? If it isn't that you're a father now, I would have showed you your place. How dare you humiliate me in front of your employees, Jayden Russell?" He ranted, holding his fist.
  • "Can we postpone the discussion for some other time? I've got a situation to deal with right now." I uttered over the phone to the client, trying to control my anger.
  • I ended the call and dropped my phone on the desk before heading towards him.
  • "I'll pretend I didn't hear the rubbish words you uttered for the sake of my late wife. Get the hell out of my company. I don't want to ever set my eyes on you. If I really do, be sure you won't survive it, that I promise." I vowed, with anger in every word.
  • "This isn't over, Jayden. This war has just begun." He added and stormed out while Henry rushed in.
  • "What the hell were you when that b***d came in?" I fired at him.
  • "I'm sorry boss. He asked him to get him a glass of water and when I came back the receptionist told him he
  • "Save your words and make sure he's out of this place this minute."
  • "Yes boss." He answered and rushed out.
  • He has just made my guess right with his words. He's just got himself into my enemy list. His words sounded real and pure with hate and desperation.
  • Why didn't I ever think about him as one of the people who might be after my life? Definitely, something is fishy in his words and I'll find out.
  • UNKNOWN POV
  • How dare he!! I have always hated him for having such great power and dominant life. I'll make his life become a living nightmare beyond what he would ever imagine.
  • I got into my car and drove out from his goddamn company with rage and pain eating me up.
  • He feels he has everything in the world and no one can step on him but he's so wrong because I'll make sure I turn him into a worthless being.
  • This time around I'll break him and destroy everything he has ever worked for and make him crumble and become so hopeless with no one to feel for him.
  • I arrived in my mansion and head straight to my torture room where I always hurt myself to constantly remind myself
  • "Master!!" Joe called out, rushing up to me and stopping me from hitting myself.
  • "Let go, you f**k" I yelled.
  • "No, master, please don't hurt yourself? I know the encounter went wrong but you can't keep hurting yourself like this all the time."
  • "That little brat had the guts to humiliate him outside his company. I'll make him pay dearly for every word and action he showed me today."
  • "He just got lucky today, master but you will defeat him."
  • "I know that and I think I know what to do this time around. it's time to execute the first plan."
  • "Okay master."
  • "I'll have to ask for a friend's support in order to make the plan become a success."
  • "Who could it be, master?"
  • "You will get to know later on. He just pushed me to the wall today and I'll let him know what I am also made of."
  • The time has come to start executing my deadly plans against that little boy and I'll start from the very thing he had worked hard to build.
