Chapter 2
- Reid stood there in silence, looking embarrassed and guilty, his eyes lowered.
- Carina, on the other hand, said with an ironic tone, "You said that I'm very warm."
- Libby suddenly stepped forward and blocked Carina's sight.
- "Carina, it's my fault. It was I who seduced Reid. It was me... I'm a slut. He's a good guy. Don't blame him, OK?"
- Carina ignored her and turned to Reid. She said in a plausibly calm way, "They all said that everyone had to pay a price for their youth, and you, are probably the most painful price that I have to pay for my youth. Reid, I should thank you, though. You've taught me that men are not always as reliable as they look.
- "I'm sorry, Carina," Reid apologized.
- Carina sighed, shaking her hand. She then said, laughing, "Reid, you don't have to apologize. Because of you, I got the job I wanted. We are even now. Now, you don't owe me anything. As for you, Libby, remember, from the moment you jumped onto Reid's bed, we were no longer friends. I'll yield him to you, but I also have a request for you, that is, don't pretend to be close to me anymore, because I won't waste my friendship and goodwill on you. You don't deserve it. I still have a class to give, so I can't stay with you in the rainy romance anymore. Bye."
- Then she took a step back, skirting them, and rushed to the side of the road.
- She was too perturbed to notice the black Bentley which was about to enter the school.
- By the time she reacted, it was already too late. The car struck her.
- She stumbled backward and fell to the ground.
- "Carina!" Reid exclaimed from behind her.
- He was about to run over when he saw Carina propping herself up.
- In a hurry, she limped to the car, opened the door, and climbed in.
- There were people in the car, yet she did not notice.
- She saw Reid approaching the car, so she shouted to the driver.
- "Take me to Aelvale Road, or else I will charge you with an intentional injury."
- The driver looked back at the man in the back seat with concern.
- "Do as this lady says," said the man.
- The driver then reversed the car and left the school.
- As they drove far away from the school, Carina looked out of the window, lost in thought.
- Her mind wandered back to Reid. Her heart ached.
- Reid would never know what kind of stupid thing she had done last night because of him.
- She regretted her impulsive actions.
- Now she lost Reid, lost a friend, and her virginity as well.
- After considering it, she decided to define yesterday as... the worst anniversary of her life.
- The man who was seated near her handed over a white towel.
- "You are all wet. Wipe yourself off."
- She took the towel and mumbled, "I'm sorry, I made your car dirty. Wait... Mr. Mendez?"
- She was in shock. The man who sat next to her turned out to be Rolando, whom she had claimed that she would never see again this morning.
- Carina was too surprised to speak.
- "What? Surprised?"
- "This ..." After pausing for a moment, she finally asked, "Why are you here?"
- "Ms. Osborn, should I remind you that this is my car?"
- That's right, she was the one who "robbed" his car.
- "Oh, sorry, I've fouled up your car. I'll wash it for you when the rain stops."
- The car stopped on Aelvale Road and Carina opened the door to get out.
- Rolando said to the driver, "Give an umbrella to Ms. Osborn."
- The driver then gave her an umbrella.
- She opened her umbrella and got out of the car before saying to Rolando, "Mr. Mendez, thank you."
- "You should do rather say something to show your appreciation." Rolando Looked indifferent.
- Although he made sense, she still found it weird.
- "Be safe," Carina said as she took a step back. She then turned around and limped toward the residential area.
- In the car, Rolando said to the driver, "Stop."
- When the car stopped, Rolando took another umbrella and got out. He caught up with Carina and stopped her.
- Carina turned around, surprised to see Rolando again.
- "Mr. Mendez?"
- "Get in the car."
- "Why?"
- "You're injured. You have to go to the hospital."
- 'How come she's that careless? Doesn't she know she's injured?' Rolando thought.
- Carina lowered her head to look at her legs.
- "I'm fine. A good rest will solve everything."
- "Are you a doctor? Why don't you write yourself a prescription? Get in the car. " With that, Rolando stuffed his umbrella into her hands without any explanation and walked towards the car.
- With a yelp of astonishment, Carina dropped the umbrella to the ground.
- Rolando ignored the umbrella and stuffed her inside the car.
- Anxious, Carina exclaimed, "No, I can't go to the hospital. I still have a tutoring session."
- "A tutoring session? That means you only quit your job as Triston's tutor?"
- "I ..." She didn't dare speak more.
- It was true.
- Rolando snorted, he got into the car and said to the driver, "Take us to the hospital."
- She looked at the residential area that was just a few steps away from her and couldn't help but feel anxious. However, she couldn't bring herself to speak, feeling a mix of guilt and embarrassment.
- At the hospital, he took her to the orthopedic department.
- When the doctor asked her where the pain was, Carina blushed.
- "I-it doesn't hurt anywhere."
- The doctor glanced at Rolando, not knowing what to do.
- "Miss, you came here for an examination, so please cooperate."
- Rolando, who stood by her side his arms crossed, spoke coldly, "Get her a complete set of examinations."
- Carina hurried to shake her head.
- "No! I'm all good. A set of examinations will be too expensive. I won't do that."
- "Yes, you will," Rolando insisted. "I will pay. I don't want you to pester me for today's car accident in the future."
- Feeling offended, Carina looked at him. "I won't do that."
- "Human beings are complex. You told me that you quit your job because you would be occupied with your thesis, yet it turned out to be a lie. People can't distinguish a liar from her face. Everyone can look innocent and honest."
- Carina wanted to defend herself.
- "I..."
- 'I lied because I don't wanna embarrass myself again!' thought Carina.
- The doctor made up the examination list and asked the nurse to lead the way.
- When she left the room, she secretly asked the nurse, "How much do these examinations cost?"
- The nurse took a look and said, "Over a grand."
- Carina immediately took the form from the nurse's hands and limped back to Rolando.
- "Can I have a word with you, please?"
- "Sure."
- Carina bit her lips.
- "I don't need all those examinations. My leg is fine. My leg doesn't hurt. But my ..."
- She lowered her eyes and blushed.
- Rolando frowned.
- "What is it?"
- She angrily raised her eyes and glared at him.
- "My private part hurts."
