• Finally, the celebrations wind down, and I lead Lara to my car. It's quiet now. I open the door for her, helping her into the passenger seat. The engine hums as we drive into the night, the city lights falling away behind us. My men follow in their cars, always nearby. But for now, it's just us, the silence, and the road ahead.
• Lara stares out the window, lost in her thoughts. I reach over, placing a hand on hers. She doesn't pull away.
