Chapter 472 Sweet Time (4)

  • His solid chest rose and fell. He turned to the girl beside him. She hugged a bouquet of red roses and smiled at him with crescent-moon eyes, looking softer and prettier than the flowers. Zachary Luellen felt like this was the freest, most exhilarating moment of his life. He reached out, plucked a rose, and tucked it into the silky hair by her ear. Hazel Sullivan played along, then clipped the rose in place against her snow-white ear. “Mr. Luellen, do I look good?” Zachary took in her jewel-bright face, wanting to etch this exact moment into his mind forever. “Mm. Gorgeous.” “Do you like it?” “I do.” Hazel giggled, then cupped her hands to her mouth and shouted toward the blue sea, “Zachary Luellen, I like you!” Zachary’s heart slammed hard. Looking at the pure, lovely girl beside him, he felt himself melting into the blazing sunlight of her love. “Zachary Luellen, I like you so, so much!” Hazel shouted again. Zachary lunged to grab her. Hazel yelped and slipped from his hands like a little water snake. Hugging the roses, she dashed a few steps away, laughing bright and radiant. “Zachary Luellen, just you wait. I’m gonna win you and make you mine—my man!” Zachary’s Adam’s apple bobbed twice. He stretched his long legs and chased her. “Ah!” Startled, Hazel took off running fast. The two of them played all the way down the beach, leaving a trail of laughter behind them. … Night fell before they knew it. Hazel finished her shower and came out, towel-drying her damp hair. Zachary had showered first. He picked up a blow dryer. “Come here. I’ll dry your hair.” Hazel padded over on light feet and plopped right onto his strong thigh, handing him her wet hair. “Thanks, boss man.” Zachary kissed her and carefully dried her hair. When he set the dryer down, he scooped her up sideways and carried her to the soft, big bed. Hazel rolled to the inside and fixed her dark, clear eyes on him, the look saying, Come here~ Zachary stood at the bedside and tucked the quilt around her. “Behave. Don’t tease me. Go to sleep. I’ll sleep in the next room.” “Mr. Luellen!” Hazel caught him and tugged hard. “Are you addicted to playing the pure gentleman? No leaving. Sleep with me!” Hazel patted the space beside her. Seeing how clingy she was, Zachary knew he wasn’t getting out of this tonight. He lifted the covers and lay down next to her. His strong arm slid over, pulling her soft body into his arms. He closed his eyes. “Mr. Luellen, can you sleep at night?” “Should be fine.” Zachary didn’t sleep at all, but he stayed still, afraid to wake the delicate girl in his arms. He wasn’t sure how long it had been when her breathing turned light and even. Then he turned on his side and, out of habit, pulled open the nightstand drawer. He used to keep his sleeping pills there. But the drawer was empty. Zachary paused. Two small hands slipped over and wrapped around his firm waist. The girl, soft as a kitten, opened her eyes, wet and shining. “Mr. Luellen, you can’t sleep? If you’re wide awake, how about a little… entertainment?”
