Chapter 22

• “What’s going on Cory?” Jasmine finally breaks the silence between them as Cory drives to a safe house
• He had kept his focus on the road all through the drive, using the head lights of the car to make sure their path was sufficiently illuminated. He knew the car in front of him was carrying his men, but he wanted to be extra careful. Plus, he didn’t know what to say all the while, until now.
• “I got a call from Derrick…” Cory begins to narrate, realizing Jasmine obviously had no idea who Derrick was, so he stops to correct himself before continuing.
