• The expression on Ava's face revealed a whirlwind of emotions I never thought I'd witness. Why did she look so betrayed, worried, and depressed? Wasn't this what she wanted, to end the charade and move on? I didn't want it to end because I stood to gain from the marriage, but right now, I was at a loss for words. I simply stared at her, my eyes narrowing as I studied her pained features.
