Chapter 5 Bella’S Pov

  • “It’s Christmas’ eve, Bella, and
  • where are you off to?” Lily asked.
  • “To my beauty shop, where else?” I
  • replied feeling nonchalant.
  • “Come on, I already told you that
  • you would be going shopping with me today. Tomorrow is Christmas and I barely
  • have any preparation set in place” she said.
  • “I hate the season, Lily, must I
  • always remind you of that?” I asked.
  • I am sitting in front of the
  • mirror, applying some makeup when she entered the room. She should know that I
  • have better things to do than Christmas. Now I wonder why she would not let me
  • alone.
  • I hate Christmas, I hate everything
  • that it stands for. It reminds of such much, so much that I would like to
  • forget.
  • “But then the shopping” she
  • appealed.
  • “I did not promise to go with you.
  • Moreover, I will have to meet Andy later tonight” I replied.
  • On hearing me mention Andy's name,
  • she went to sit on the bed. “So about Andy, what have you decided? Will you
  • accept his proposal?” she inquired.
  • “I don’t do love, baby girl, I am
  • only with him for the fun and that’s all” I replied.
  • “Come on, I thought you were
  • getting serious with him?” she asked.
  • “Serious” I chuckled. “Even the
  • thought of such is making me choke. See, I think his wife is coming back” I
  • said just to get her off me with her sermon.
  • “His wife, but they have been
  • divorced for like how long, fifteen or twenty years?” she asked.
  • “It is a little above ten years.
  • But lately, they have been going out with their kids often” I replied.
  • “Oh, you told me she just
  • graduated, right? She should be older than you by my calculations” she said.
  • “Can you go for your shopping now,
  • Lily? You don’t want to be late” I said.
  • Right now, I am not prepared for
  • any of her sermons. She is my best friend and I still cannot understand why she
  • has blatantly refused to come to terms with my way of life.
  • “Come on, Bella. When will you get
  • serious with yourself and date men your age?” she asked.
  • I sighed, there she goes again.
  • Must we go through this every other day?
  • “Yes to you I might appear
  • unserious with life. I am twentyone, Lily. I am not a little girl and I know
  • what I want. I have a successful beauty shop to my name and if that is not what
  • seriousness entails, then I am sorry I am not intrigued by your perception of
  • being serious” I replied.
  • “Okay, what do you gain by this? We
  • both agree that money is not your problem. Money has never been your problem”
  • she asked.
  • “I gain three things, Lily. Okay,
  • literary two. And the third one is just like an extra topping to the two. My
  • gains are, Good dick as I love them strong and experienced; fulfillment, you of
  • all people should know how fulfilled I am with older men and then money. And as
  • I said earlier, money is the toppings. When I meet a man with the two
  • qualities, it is only natural that the third follows. It is a complete package”
  • I explained.
  • I hope that for once she will
  • understand what I mean and leave me alone.
  • She shook her head and sighed.
  • LILY’S POV
  • “Come on, Bella. When will you get
  • serious with yourself and date men your age?” I asked.
  • We always have to go over this
  • issue from time to time. I know I should not worry about her lifestyle anymore,
  • but I just cannot help it. Flirting with different older men concurrently will
  • not take her anywhere good.
  • “Yes to you I might appear
  • unserious with life. I am twentyone, Lily. I am not a little girl and I know
  • what I want. I have a successful beauty shop to my name and if that is not what
  • seriousness entails, then I am sorry I am not intrigued by your perception of
  • being serious” she replied.
  • “Okay, what do you gain by this. We
  • both agree that money is not your problem. Money has never been your problem” I
  • asked.
  • She smiled to herself, and then
  • went on to explain. “I gain three things, Lily. Okay, literary two. And the
  • third one is just like an extra topping to the two. My gains are, good dick as
  • I love them strong and experienced; fulfillment, you of all people should know
  • how fulfilled I am with older men and then money. And as I said earlier, money
  • is the toppings. When I meet a man with the two qualities, it is only natural
  • that the third follows. It is a complete package”
  • I listened to her with rapt
  • attention, and all I could do after she was done was to shake my head. She is a
  • very strange fellow indeed.
  • “So, about the party on the 26th,
  • have you gotten your outfit yet?” she inquired.
  • “And what makes you think that I
  • would like to be there?” I asked.
  • “Come on, dear, it will be so much
  • fun. Diego is taking us in his private jet to the beach villa. And I heard that
  • great stars would be performing there on that date” she replied.
  • I looked at her as she explained
  • and did not utter any word. When she saw my reaction, she continued in her
  • persuasion. “We would be spending the night at the famous Shadow Island. You’ve
  • always wanted to go there, and if you want, we can spend more days there. We
  • can be there until the new year”
  • “Yes, Bella, I will go with you. I
  • think I am long due for a holiday you know” I replied.
  • “This is great news. I promise you
  • will love it. Diego’s Yacht at Shadow Island is something to look forward to”
  • she revealed.
  • ”And how is it going with Diego? I
  • noticed I barely see much of him these days” I asked.
  • “Yes. He moved his family to
  • Mexico” she replied.
  • “Mexico” I murmured.
  • “He started a very big business
  • over there. So he is based there now. I will go visit him sometime next year”
  • she replied.
  • “I see” I nodded.
  • Now there was no need to go through
  • this with her. I have a marvelous holiday to plan for, and I might as well
  • enjoy the fun while it lasts.
  • “Now you get it, Lily, now you get
  • it” she replied.
  • I rolled my eyes. There is no way I
  • am going to allow my conscience to prick me. Annabel has a worrisome appetite
  • for older men and I will deal with the issue later.
