Chapter 3 Unexpected Reunion

  • Elijah Stone's POV
  • It was a frustrating day.
  • These boorish peasants were reproducing too fast. They were like pesky flies, flying around and contaminating everything they touched. One of them just crashed into my Phantom, and Larry told me a cab driver did it.
  • Furious and annoyed, I was about to tell Larry to punish the driver, but Dolph stopped me. He sounded ecstatic when he told me that our Luna was in that car.
  • "I found her, Elijah! It's our Luna!"
  • Dolph was talking about that woman who had a one-night stand with me a few years ago. I never saw her in Seafaire again ever since I was done dealing with the mafia. I thought she was gone, but now the woman showed up again.
  • "I understand, Dolph, but calm down. I'm hurt, and I can't see her like this," I said, trying to calm Dolph down. My back was still bleeding, and I couldn't get out of the car looking like this, nor could I see that woman.
  • My driver was talking to the cab driver, but things weren't going well. I asked Larry to tell the driver to hurry up, as I had to leave this place as soon as possible.
  • Antonia Traver's POV
  • The weather was turning for the worse. A storm was starting to brew, but the driver was still arguing with the other driver. Looks like it's gonna take a long time.
  • I didn't want my children to get drenched, especially Rose. She had a weak constitution to begin with and would get ill easily, especially if she was drenched. "Stay in the car, kids. I need to see what's going on." And then I got out of the car.
  • "Be careful, Mommy," the children said at the same time.
  • When I got out of the car, I heard the cab driver explaining to the Rolls-Royce driver, "I'm sorry, sir. I didn't mean it. It's all that woman's fault. She brought three kids and a lot of suitcases with her. My car got overloaded, and this happened." When he saw me coming out of the car, the cab driver pointed at me angrily. "You're paying for this!"
  • What the heck? "Why should I—"
  • Just when I was about to argue with the driver, someone in the Phantom rolled the car window down. A man looked at us coldly and said, "That's enough. Mr. Stone has more important business to handle."
  • "Of course, sir," the Rolls-Royce driver quickly nodded and told the cab driver, "Be careful next time." And then he quickly got in the car.
  • Instinctively, I turned around. The car window was still open, and I saw a man inside. His back was turned to me, naked. Obviously, he was hurt, as he had an ugly scar on his back. Blood was trickling down his back, but most importantly, I noticed that tattoo on his neck. It resembled a wolf's head.
  • Wolf's head? My eyes went wide with shock, and I stared at the tattoo dumbly. My heart felt like it would stop beating at any moment. That tattoo left an indelible mark in my mind. It's him!
  • The male escort at the bar four years ago! He's the kids' father! My mind froze, and I stood petrified.
  • "Out of my way!" The cab driver shoved me away.
  • I staggered and fell. When I raised my head again, that Rolls-Royce was already gone. Everything felt like a blur. Was that really him?
  • I thought he was a male escort. Why was he in that car? And why is he hurt?
  • "Hey, why did you push my mommy?" Robert roared like a little lion. He couldn't believe the driver just shoved me, and he swung his fists.
  • "Don't yell at me, kid. None of this would have happened if not for you guys!" the driver snapped at Robert, obviously unfazed by his fists.
  • Barnabas stepped forth. "This isn't our fault. You only got into that accident because you tried to overtake the car." Barnabas was just a boy, but he was the smartest out of the three, and he had a logical mind. "We're the passengers here. None of this is our fault, but you on the other hand, just tried to overtake a car and went over the speed limit. That's against the rules, and we can get the cops involved for this."
  • Rose joined in as well. She puffed her cheeks out and complained, "That's right. You pushed my mommy. I'll tell the cops to catch you!" She pointed at the center of the road. "There's a cop there!"
  • Her pet parrot stood on her shoulder and flapped its wings. "Officer! Officer!"
  • That parrot was Rose's best friend. She called it Little Pepper. Little Pepper was a smart creature, and it would imitate how we spoke sometimes.
  • The cab driver was fuming, but he couldn't do anything about us, as he was in the wrong in the first place. "Women. Nothing but trouble. Doubly so if they have some crotch goblins with them. Get out of my car. I'm not driving you." Angered, the driver opened his trunk and tossed our suitcases out before leaving us behind.
  • I didn't expect him to do that. That b*stard. How could he do this? Leaving a mother with three children behind on the streets is low. "Dammit. I can't believe this!"
  • I fumbled to pick our suitcases up and kept my children behind me to protect them from oncoming traffic.
  • Elijah Stone's POV
  • I looked in the rearview mirror when we left. Even though Dolph was adamant that the woman was our Luna, I still felt nothing when I met her again after so many years.
  • Dolph loved her. He thought we should find her and make intense love with her so we could leave an imprint. I was sure he wanted to relive that night four years ago, as I could feel myself getting hard, but the wound on my back took precedence.
  • "I think I should administer an anesthetic, Mr. Stone."
  • "I don't need something like that," I answered impatiently and went back to my documents.
  • "You'll have to hold it in then. I'll stitch the wound up." The doctor seemed nervous. Perhaps he was worried I might get angry if he hurt me.
  • But he had no idea how much pain I could tolerate. I was a lot stronger than most people, and this wound was nothing for werewolves. I could heal it up as fast as I wanted to if I wished to, but my human form couldn't do that.
  • And this car wasn't big enough for me to transform. I couldn't have this doctor see my wereform either, or that would scare the living daylights out of him.
