- I made it to the left turn as Leone came around it. He gave me an odd look for a moment and then motioned down the hall. “I wasn’t sure if you knew the way.”
- I kept walking. “Michael blurted out some directions before he left.”
- He walked patiently beside me. “They’re looking at me like I’ve grown two heads.” He cleared his throat. “Sorry if I scared you. I was high as a kite.”
