Chapter 5 The Curse

  • King Jerald stared at the figure in front of him in fear, “Darrell, it can't be….? It's been seven years. You…. died in… The Deadman's Forest,”
  • Darrell's face turned cold, “Yes seven years since you sent us to our death. Is this your family?”
  • “How is this possible?” King Jerald asked.
  • “How! why! is all you interested in! Darrell shouted out “Ain't you going to ask about my Knights? The men you sent to their deaths.”
  • “No you have no right to blame me for that, it was Clarris that ran into that forest, I had no choice but to send you back in.” king Jerald pleaded when he noticed Darrell's bitter face.
  • “My fault!!! a cold voice echoed through the huge window glasses causing them to shatter. The little boys cried out in fear. “Mother we are scared,” Rachel lifted them and hid them behind her dress.
  • “My fault, you stupid man! say that again, I dare you to say that loud!” Both Jerald and Rachel were lifted in mid air and pinned to the wall. Sound of snapping fingers was heard and the two boys fell to the ground.
  • “No please not our sons, they are just children. Joefrey! Mark! say something, mommy is here” Rachel cried out.
  • “Jeofrey, Mark! Say something sons,” King Jerald cried out. But the boys were as cold as ice.
  • “Show yourself witch, how dare you touch defenseless children come and face me!” he tried using his powers but nothing came out, “what's happening?” He asked while looking at his wife.
  • Rachel tried whilreding her hands but to no avail, “my powers are gone too!”
  • “Darrell do something, I order you!” the king cried out.
  • Darrell smirked, took a chair and began whistling a sweet Melody.
  • The entire room became dark, the walls split into two and a portal opened, within it came Clarris as fearless as a Goddess. Jerald's heart began pumping fast in fear, “it..... can't... be!” he stammered.
  • Rachel felt a lump on her throat, they could both see that she looked different and powerful. She wore a magnificent dress and the live snake like hair added deadlines to her appearance.
  • “Clarris what happened to you?” King Jerald asked.
  • “Welcome my queen,” Darrell knelt down. At the mention of that, King Jerald stared at Darrell in shock and asked, “what' going on!!”
  • “Stand up please, good job. Is the castle secured?” Clarris asked.
  • Darrell smiled, “Yes my queen I sent the entire army and dark knights to Arthora. The sorcerer's are trapped in the castle basement after I tricked them all with King Jerald's ugly face.”
  • “Excellent I knew your shape shifting ability would come in handy, you shall be greatly rewarded.”
  • “You fool what have you done?” Jerald yelled at Darrell.
  • “Shut up fool!” Clarris said out causing more glass to shatter. Rachel covered her ears.
  • “Seven years I cried for you, seven years I moaned, while you lavished in luxury and made beautiful babies,” Clarris stated while walking to the two sleeping boys
  • “Do not touch my sons, I will kill you and drag you back to the pits of hell you came from,” Rachel cursed.
  • “Ha ha haha, I dare you, Such beautiful sons you have, so innocent but too bad….”
  • “Clarris please forgive me, do not kill my children, it is me that wronged you,” Jerald tried reasoning with her. “Yes what I did to you was wrong, I take all the blame, spare my family.”
  • Clarris snapped her figure and king Jerald dropped to the ground. He quickly got up and tried unleashing his fire on Clariss but only smoke came. Both Darrell and Clarris laughed out.
  • “Are you looking for this?” Clarris asked with both hands ignited with fire. You once said I was only a girl that can fly….. how does it feel being just a mere boy? I have taken all your abilities, you and your wife are just humans now, mere human beings.”
  • King Jerald stared back at her with fear in his eyes. He was confused and panicking now, “Please Clarris have mercy on us, I'm so sorry, you can not punish us for falling in love, Please Clariss”
  • “Clarris, I was supposed to be your friend, we shouldn't have acted on our feelings, please punish me,” Rachel begged.
  • “No, quiet Rachel, King Jerald cut his wife and looked at Clarris “I was the one that you were betrothed to, I broke the alliance, I cheated on you, take my life.”
  • Clarris remembered the dream she had had seven years ago, the night before her wedding. She had seen this exact scene, Jerald on the floor begging her for Mercy. Even though she needed answers from the witch the satisfaction she was getting from such a scene was so satisfying and getting answers was not her main priority.
  • She looked at Darrell and smiled, then changed her eyes to black and her hair rose behind her, hissing. “You do not get to receive mercy from me and neither am I killing you. Seven years I cried without you even stepping outside this castle to look for me, seven dumb years!!……”
  • “I'm so sorry Clarris…..”
  • “Shut up do not interrupt me!” her voice echoed through the room, shattering more glass.
  • “Seven years I cried, For eternity you shall cry.” The room was filled with black fog and Clarris moved closer. “In seven years you shall bear six children for me and on their eighteenth birthdays I'll come and get them one by one. After I get the last one you will again in seven years bare six male children and again on their eighteenth birthdays I will come and collect. This cycle will continue for eternity.”
  • Darrell's jaw hung in shock.
  • “What are you talking about? What do you mean?” A shocked king Jerald asked.
  • “In short, she just cursed you?” Darrell replied.
  • “You already have two sons and one on the way so you will bear three more in three years and we shall meet when I come to collect Mark, your eldest, on his eighteenth birthday. I was not worthy in your eyes but in your son's eyes I will be worthy,” Clarris added.
  • King Jerald laughed, “ha ha ha ha ha,"
  • “You can't do that, you do not have the power to give me children, children are a gift from above,” Rachel reminded her
  • “In eleven years we shall see about that? by then your eldest will be eighteen,” Clarris said with a smile on her face.
  • Jerald kept laughing like a madman, “She is only scaring us, you might have made a deal with the devil but the devil does not bring children to this world.”
  • Clarris walked over to where king Jerald was lying and lifted him by his throat, “Look into my eyes?” Jerald looked into her eyes and within those eyes he saw his entire eternity life and felt every pain and anguish and was left numb when Clarris let go of him.
  • “Look at it from the bright side, you get to live for eternity,” she snapped her hands and Rachel dropped to the ground hard and screamed in pain. “Ouch!”
  • “Just kill us, kill us, just kill,” king Jerald kept pleading.
  • Clarris opened a portal and walked through it followed by Darrell and the wall closed back.
  • “Just kill us, please kill us, kill us,” he kept chanting.
  • The two boys woke up and ran to their mother's side, “Mother get up what are you doing on the floor?” Mark the eldest asked.
  • “My water, my King, I think my water just broke?” Rachel cried out.
  • The scoceres that had initially been locked up under the castle finally freed themselves and were shocked at the scene they found. All the windows of the castle were shattered and the castle was filled with dark fog.
  • “My Lord, why did you lock us in the basement” the eldest Sorcerer asked while helping the king up.The others rushed to Rachael.
  • “My water just broke," Rachel cried out in pain.
  • They called upon the servants and lifted her, “my king, my king!” Rachel cried out but to no avail. King Jarald kept chanting the same words over and over again. “Just kill us, just kill us…..”
