• “C’mon, Zara, make up your mind; we are running out of time.”
• The elder’s voice was terse; she could see that she had done most of the job; all she needed to do now was give Zara a little extra nudge, and the deed would be done.
• She used ‘we’ to give Zara the impression that they were in the conundrum together. In reality, she did not care a damn about her; Zara was a means to an end, and she needed her to play her role to that end.
