Chapter 253 Azure Elixir
- Shilan Hua had a bombshell figure to begin with, and Francis Lynch could feel two soft curves press against his chest. Her unique maiden scent wrapped around him, light and sweet, making his mind drift. He stepped back again, thinking, Trouble comes wrapped in silk. As that thought flickered, Francis retreated two more steps and quickly changed the subject. “What are you doing at the pharmacy? Are you sick?” He looked her up and down. Shilan Hua seemed perfectly healthy. She sighed helplessly. “I’m not sick. It’s my dad. Someone beat him up.” “Your dad got jumped? What happened? Don’t tell me it was StarRise Group again.” She blinked, surprised. “How did you know?” “My family owns the most property in the old district. StarRise Group’s been trying to make us sign first. But the price they’re offering is trash. No way we’re signing.” Francis lifted a brow. So her family were the landlords of the old district. “I know StarRise Group’s been targeting the old district. If I can, I’ll help fix this.” he said seriously. The real headache with StarRise Group was that Black Flame venom master. His presence scared too many people, letting StarRise Group run wild while everyone pretended not to see a thing. “Mr. Lynch, let it go. If we can’t help it, we’ll just sell to StarRise Group at a low price. No point risking your life for money.” She sighed again, clearly not wanting Francis to take any risks. “I know what I’m doing. Even if it weren’t for you, I’d still take on StarRise Group.” His voice went cold. Their actions had hurt too many people, including him and Uncle Smith and Aunt Smith. After a short chat with Shilan Hua, Francis left the pharmacy and drove back to school. By then, Nora Lynch had finished her exam and was just coming out of the classroom. She came out grinning. “Bro, the test didn’t feel that hard.” “Good. Confidence is key.” Francis flashed a smile, took Nora to grab lunch, and got ready for the afternoon exam. After eating, Francis walked Nora back to the classroom to review, then found a quiet spot for alchemy. At this point, he was smooth and steady. In less than two hours, he refined three Azure Elixirs. With the elixirs in hand, Francis called Teacher He. A moment later, Teacher He picked up. “Hello? Teacher He? Your medicine is ready,” Francis said lightly. Teacher He hesitated. “Okay. I’ll wait for you in the infirmary.” Francis hung up and headed there. As soon as he arrived, he saw a few people waiting—Teacher He and that middle-aged doctor among them. Before Teacher He could speak, a middle-aged woman at his side jumped in first. “You’re the one who said you can cure my husband?” Her eyes were full of doubt. “Do you think my husband’s a bookish pushover so you can scam him for money?” “You’re young. Why can’t you walk the straight line?” Teacher He stopped her and said, helpless, “The kid never said anything about money. And I know my own body.” She snorted. “Wait till he asks for cash—then it’s too late. Look at him. So young. How can he treat anyone? I won’t stop you from getting treatment, but I won’t let you waste money.” She gave Francis a hard look. “Listen, punk. Get lost. Don’t come near my husband again, or I’ll call the cops on you.”
