- Martin entered the hall to see it packed with affluent people. They were too preoccupied with their conversation and greetings to notice his arrival.
- Even though it was not his first time attending an opening gala, the social atmosphere remained the same; nobody seemed to care about him, and even if they did, they would quickly brush him off with a litany of shady glances.
- He was nothing compared to his step-brother, who could easily pull it off. Donatello had always stolen the spotlight wherever he went, and most times he made Martin feel even more inferior.
