• Colton let out a sigh and tossed around again. He was lying on his side, facing the bedside table where his phone was at. Yes, Sierra was not the only one who got a new phone, Colton got one too, just like hers. Mindlessly, his hand reached for the phone and he went straight to Sierra’s social media profile. His lips twitched into a smile as soon as he saw her profile picture. In the photo, Sierra was smiling happily with her dog, Winnie, in her arms. Colton felt his heart twist and ache. He’d give anything to keep that smile on her face. He’d give everything to be able to see that smile right now.
• As if his hand had a mind of its own, Colton exited Sierra’s profile page and went to the contacts. He found Sierra’s new number from the phone he gave her, and his thumb hovered above the call button. It was 11 PM at night and Sierra might’ve been asleep already, or maybe not. Colton paused for a moment to think about his next move.
