Chapter 596

• The following weeks are blissful. Nicholas and I spend most of our time together, watching movies, playing chess, training, or reading in the library. We also take walks around the pack. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we go to the train station every evening and get on a train to go nowhere. We are both silent when we are there. I drink wine and eat, and he stares out the window.
• We had dinner with my family at the estate tonight, and they were pleased to see us. Emiliana insisted on joining us, but Ken wasn't around to her dismay. Nonetheless, we had a lovely time. Eric and Nicholas were drunk on whiskey because of a drinking game they were playing. I've never seen Nicholas drunk. It's a good sight.
• " I had a good time tonight," I yawn as I enter the house. Nicholas throws an arm around me and carries me bridal style. I yelp in surprise.
