Chapter 36 The Bone-shore
- The first thing Anna felt was the weight of the water.
- It wasn't the cold, biting spray of the Southern Bay. This water was heavy, like liquid velvet, and it didn't smell of salt. It smelled of ancient iron and forgotten prayers.
- Anna gasped, her lungs burning as she broke the surface. She expected to see the burning beach and the ruins of the Silver Moon. Instead, she saw a sky the color of a bruised plum, filled with three moons—one silver, one black, and one a jagged, broken crimson.
