• "Good morning, Mira. Take a seat. I want to discuss a couple of things with you," Mia, Ruhi's boss, said to her while motioning to a chair.
• "Well, first of all, you are still in your first month at this company. Ideally, you aren't allowed to take any days off at all in the first six months. You already took three days off when your husband was in the hospital, and you asked for another day off today. I can't grant you so many leaves. Is that clear?"
• "Yes." Ruhi nodded blankly, waiting for what was next.
