- The hospital corridor had been a cold place to be, not because of the constant sterile smell that choked me and triggered traumatic memories, not even because of the fluorescent lights that seemed to be bright and made me dizzy. But because of what I have witnessed.
- Tina and Camilla, the two women I had grown to loathe in such a short period of time. They had cornered Isabella in the hallway hollering venomous accusations. They had twisted their words and allowed it to flow out so smoothly with their smug expression laced with a subtle pride that what they had been doing was right.
